???????The Film Society of Lincoln Center and African Film Festival, Inc. have joined forces once again, to present the 24th New York African Film Festival, May 3-9.

JAKE MARLEY, a writer from Garden Grove, CA and MICHAEL MICHERA, an illustrator from Pabianice, Poland were announced as the Grand Prize Winners of 'Dreamers and Dragons,' at the The 33rd Annual L. Ron Hubbard Achievement Awards for Writers and Illustrators of the Future Contests in Science Fiction and Fantasy held at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, CA, presented by Author Services, Inc. and Galaxy Press on Sunday evening, April 2, 2017.

Ali Stroker (who appears in the upcoming ABC drama Ten Days In the Valley which premieres in a few months & stars Emmy Award-winner Kyra Sedgwick) will be honored on Friday, April 21 at Gotham Hall in New York City by her alma mater New York University at the NYU Alumni Association's Annual Awards Luncheon, where she will be celebrated alongside two other distinguished alumni: Academy Award, Tony Award & Pulitzer Prize Award-winner John Patrick Shanley (STEINHARDT '77, HON '09) and attorney Martin Lipton (LAW '55). Stroker will receive the Distinguished Young Alumna Award.

A new season of The History of the World in 100 Performances with Adam Gopnik begins on Monday, April 3, at the David Rubenstein Atrium, with a look at the career of the great American soprano Leontyne Price. Joining Gopnik are internationally renowned soprano Renee Fleming and rising soprano Julia Bullock. Interspersed with audio and video clips, they will discuss Ms. Price's extraordinary career and the significance of the pioneering African-American soprano's role on the world's stages. Ms. Bullock will also sing several of Ms. Price's signature arias. The entire evening will be streamed on Facebook Live on Lincoln Center's Facebook Page.
