The entire 2014 Season has been a year of celebration for The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre as it marks its 20th Anniversary Season. Since Way Off Broadway first opened it has been one of the region's most established and respected theatre organizations. To this day, it is the Frederick-area's only year-round producing theatre.

Pacific Arts Movement celebrates its 15th Festival (SDAFF), the largest exhibition of Asian Cinema on the West Coast and San Diego's largest film festival, November 6-15 with expanded programming and a record number of venues.

Paloma Herrera, Julie Kent and Xiomara Reyes, Principal Dancers with American Ballet Theatre, have announced their retirements from the Company at the conclusion of the 2015 Metropolitan Opera House season in New York City. “These three unique ballerinas have each made such distinctive contributions to ABT throughout the years,” Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie stated. “With them, an era of our history resides. Their remarkable careers will be three more reasons to celebrate our 75th Anniversary Season.”

The Music Hall has announced its partnership with The District Restaurant to present this season's Singer Songwriters Series. This series highlights up and coming as well as established artists. From Carlene Carter's classic country tones to the slick afro-beats of Sinkane to the Ukranian folk-punk band Dakhabrakha this series will have something for everyone. Set in the Loft, patrons will experience these artists in a truly intimate setting.

Karen Carpenter, a producer, director and teacher, a theater-maker for more than 30 years, has been appointed the interim Artistic Director of the William Inge Center for the Arts and the 34th Annual William Inge Theatre Festival. The Inge Festival is the Official Theater Festival of the State of Kansas, hosted on the campus of Independence Community College, which houses the William Inge archives.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association presents The Big Picture: Hitchcock!, a thrilling tribute to the groundbreaking films of Alfred Hitchcock, at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at 7:30 PM. Hosted by Academy award-winning actress Eva Marie Saint (On the Waterfront, North by Northwest), the evening will feature mesmerizing, haunting and psychologically gripping scores by Bernard Herrmann, Dimitri Tiomkin, Alfred Newman, Franz Waxman, Miklos Rozsa and more. From September 4-14, 2014, Houston Ballet launches its 45th season with the company premiere of John Neumeier's three-act ballet A Midsummer Night's Dream. The ballet is based on Shakespeare's lighthearted play of the same name and follows the hijinks and hilarity that ensues when a well-intentioned plan with a love potion goes awry. Created in 1977, A Midsummer Night's Dream has served as Mr. Neumeier's calling card, being seen as one of his most joyous and popular creations. Houston Ballet is the first American ballet company to perform the famous work and it is the first piece by Mr. Neumeier to enter the Houston Ballet repertoire.
