Butterfly, Yellowface, Chinglish).  Previously produced by Mu in 2009, this will be a fully reimagined production featuring new and familiar faces. Flower Drum Song, created by legendary musical theater duo Rodgers and Hammerstein takes audiences to the vibrant world of San Francisco's Chinatown in the 1950s to Club Chop Suey, a nightclub owned by a Chinese-American family. Old World tradition clashes with New World trends as two generations, father and son, struggle to honor and protect their cultural traditions while adapting to the changing times. 

Prince's Paisley Park in Chanhassen, Minnesota has announced dates for a four-day special event, CELEBRATION 2017, which will honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Prince, as the world marks the first anniversary of his passing.

Legendary American composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim's masterwork Merrily We Roll Along is revisited in a new production under the direction of Tony Award nominee Michael Arden (Spring Awakening) set for the Bram Goldsmith Theater stage at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts from tonight, November 23, through December 18.

The Public Theater presents the New York Premiere of PARTY PEOPLE by UNIVERSES (Steven Sapp, Mildred Ruiz-Sapp, and William Ruiz a.k.a Ninja). Developed and directed by Liesl Tommy with choreography by Millicent Johnnie, PARTY PEOPLE began performances on November 1 and runs through Sunday, December 4, with an official press opening tonight, November 15.

Performances during the parade will include the casts of the Broadway hit musicals THE COLOR PURPLE, ON YOUR FEET and SCHOOL OF ROCK.

In recognition of her contributions to music and her work on behalf of others, Dionne Warwick is this year's musician recipient of the What a Wonderful World Award. The annual award will also be presented to a physician, a patient, and a philanthropist who have served to make the world better. The awards are presented by the Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel.

Westfield Corporation announced today that Broadway, film, and television producer Scott Sanders, who recently received the Tony Award for his Best Musical Revival of The Color Purple, has been appointed as Westfield's first-ever Creative Head of Global Entertainment. His company, Scott Sanders Theatrical Productions, will be wholly acquired by Westfield.

For the past three months, the country has been engaged in a passionate election that has changed the course of history forever: DEWcision 2016. Members of DEW Nation have cast their votes for either MTN DEW BAJA BLAST or MTN DEW PITCH BLACK, two specialty flavors that developed cult followings over the years, and after months of voting and wild online challenges, the results are now in. With more than 2.9 million votes, PITCH BLACK has edged out BAJA BLAST by less than a half of a percent of the total 5,789,284 million votes. PITCH BLACK has won the election.
