Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director) today announced that Derek Smith would join the cast for the American Premiere of a new adaptation of August Strindberg's The Dance of Death by Mike Poulton (Tony Award Nominee for Best Play for Fortune's Fool), directed by Joseph Hardy (Tony Award winner for Best Director for Child's Play). This strictly limited engagement begins Wednesday April 10th and continues through May 4th only, at the Lucille Lortel Theater (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson Streets). Opening Night is set for Thursday April 18th. Hardy directs a company that features Daniel Davis, Laila Robins, and Derek Smith.

Everyman Theatre has announced the first cast that will perform on its brand new Fayette Street stage. Renowned actress Linda Thorson, well known for her role in the television series The Avengers and over 40 years of experience on the New York and London stage, will join Everyman Resident Company Members Clinton Brandhagen, Deborah Hazlett, Beth Hylton, Wil Love, Bruce Randolph Nelson, and Carl Schurr in the 2008 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play, August: Osage County.

The Manhattan Theatre Club has announced full casting for the upcoming world premiere of CLOSE UP SPACE by Molly Smith Metzler, directed by Leigh Silverman. Joining the cast is Academy Award & Emmy Award nominee Rosie Perez (Fearless, The Ritz) as famous author 'Vanessa Finn Adams.' According to published reports, 'The Perfect Host,' starring stage and screen star David Hyde Pierce, is set for a theatrical release on July 1, 2011. The film, which premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, also stars Clayne Crawford, Nathaniel Parker, Helen Reddy, Megahn Perry and Joseph Will.

Peer into an avant-garde interpretation of this classic Chekhov story that takes on a magical quality as a family grapples with the impending foreclosure of their estate. In celebration of its 50 year anniversary, the critically-acclaimed Steppenwolf Theatre Company production of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? will open on Broadway Saturday, October 13, 2012-exactly 50 years to the date after the play's original Broadway opening on Saturday, October 13, 1962. Directed by Pam MacKinnon, the Broadway production will feature the original Steppenwolf cast: ensemble members Tracy Letts and Amy Morton with Carrie Coon and Madison Dirks and will open at a Shubert Theatre TBA.
