Too often, gaps in funding force schools to make difficult decisions, leaving important items unfunded. SundanceTV, the official television network of the Sundance Film Festival, today announced that three short films from the 2018 Festival will launch exclusively on the network's website, SundanceTV.com, and the SundanceTV TVE app today, with more to come later in the year.  The network has also developed a new destination on SundanceTV.com to host these films, one of which won the top prize at this year's festival and two of which are animated.

The producers of Tennessee Whiskey the Musical, are opening up a national talent search to cast the role of the King of Country, George Strait for their upcoming production of Tennessee Whiskey the Musical, the story of Dean Dillon. To kick-off the search, they are launching a virtual audition process where interested performers can post a video singing and playing a George Strait/Dean Dillon song. These videos will be seen by the show's casting team and it could earn them a chance for a callback at one of the show's National auditions taking place in New York, Nashville and Las Vegas in the summer of 2018.*

The success of THE KING AND I over the years has been nothing short of remarkable. The movie version from the 1950's brought Yul Brynner to center stage as he played the role of this famous king. With so many incarnations of the iconic musical there have been quite a few actors who have worked hard to shed the Brynner version of the King and portray him in the way it's most comfortable for them. One such actor is veteran performer Jose Llana. BWW had the opportunity recently to chat with Llana as he is out on tour with THE KING AND I.
