Carmen Pavlovic, C.E.O. of Global Creatures, the company behind the phenomenal world-wide success, Walking with Dinosaurs - the Arena Spectacular, has announced that a creative team has been assembled and work has begun on KING KONG - Live on Stage, an entirely new production conceived for the Broadway stage. KING KONG - Live on Stage is authorized by the estate of Merian C. Cooper (Creator of KING KONG and director of the 1933 film).

Former JERSEY BOYS star Erich Bergen is certainly one busy guy. In support of his first soon-to-be released solo CD The Vegas Sessions, Bergen will be debuting his new club act at The Magic Castle in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, September 15. On top of that, he is currently in rehearsals for the new musical VENICE, which is set to open October 7 at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. Today we continue our critical appraisal of the entire English-language recorded canon of Stephen Sondheim - at the very least, all the major productions which were recorded - beginning where we have left off with the round-ups of GYPSY and WEST SIDE STORY, as well as the 2009 Revival Recording of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, from the last few weeks. The last show for which Sondheim wrote lyrics-only, before he was quite able to get his own musical scores produced, was his collaboration with Richard Rodgers, DO I HEAR A WALTZ? Next, we continue with the first show for which he wrote music and lyrics, SATURDAY NIGHT, as well as the first show he wrote music and lyrics for that actually made it to Broadway, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM.

The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) today announced details of the visual arts exhibition at the Abu Dhabi Festival 2010. Throughout the whole festival, The Middle East Modern Masters exhibition will be held at the Emirates Palace. The exhibition will feature a joint collection of works by two of the greatest living masters of Middle Eastern art - sculptors Parviz Tanavoli and Adam Henein. The Abu Dhabi Festival takes place from 20 March to 7 April.

Two River Theater Co. will present Neil Simon's Tony nominated romantic comedy: BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, directed by Two River Founder and Executive Producer, Robert M. Rechnitz. Barefoot in the Park runs through Sunday, February 28.

Rent, the rock musical about a group of artists in New York City who are dealing with questions of art, integrity, AIDS, and community, premiered on Broadway in 1996 and enjoyed a twelve-year run there, spurring multiple national tours. Now, for the first time, a local production of the show can be seen in the Twin Cities at the Lab Theatre, and it's enjoying a reinvigoration that comes with new staging, local actors, and a commitment to a full audience experience.
