Disney's Aladdin, the hit Broadway musical, will welcome new principal cast members Brad Weinstock (Omar) and Major Attaway (Standby Genie/Babkak/Sultan) to the cast beginning this month, it was announced today.

In anticipation of the live 88th Annual Academy Award broadcast on ABC on Sunday, February 28th, BWW will be spotlighting the Oscar nominated movie performances of some of Broadway's biggest stars. Today, we take a look back at the incredible careers, both stage and screen, of the cast of SPOTLIGHT, nominated for Best Picture. SPOTLIGHT is the story of how four Pulitzer Prize-winning columnists broke the story of the Boston archdiocese priest sex-abuse scandal in 2001. We are profiling three members of it's amazing cast, Brian d'Arcy James, Liev Schreiber, and Len Cariou.

Now, according to The Wall Street Journal, ATG plans to open a 'British-style club above the Hudson Theatre after it relaunches the historic venue for Broadway use.'

According to Variety, Broadway will be getting another theatre in the near future. The UK's Ambassador Theatre Group, which owns the recently renovated Lyric Theatre, will renovate the Hudson Theatre next. The venue, currently a part of the Millennium Hotel, will be turned back into a Broadway house. Currently used for various corporate events, the theatre hasn't been home to a Broadway show since 1968.

From January 19 to 23, Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute (WMI) presents The Song Continues, an annual series led by renowned mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne, exploring song repertoire through master classes and concerts with the goal of encouraging, supporting, and preserving the art of the vocal recital. The series concludes with the Marilyn Horne Song Celebration, a recital featuring special guest artist soprano Nina Stemme on Saturday, January 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall. The evening's concert also features performances by soprano Julia Bullock, mezzo-soprano Daniela Mack, tenor Andrew Haji, bass-baritone Evan Hughes, and pianists John Arida, Keun-A Lee, Ken Noda, and Jennifer Szeto. President Barack Obama named this year's honoreees last week, and the awards will be presented at the White House today, November 24th.

Labyrinth Theater Company (Artistic Director Mimi O'Donnell, Executive Director Danny Feldman) presents a free, Halloween performance of Empanada Loca at 10pm on October 31. All tickets for this performance will be distributed via an online lottery system at labtheater.org. Glenn Close will star as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard, the second production in the partnership between English National Opera (ENO) and theGradeLinnit Company.   With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton, Sunset Boulevard is produced by arrangement with The Really Useful Group Ltd and is based on the original Paramount film by Billy Wilder.
