In honor of NBC's SMASH welcoming Broadway veterans Jeremy Jordan, Krysta Rodriguez, and Andy Mientus to their ranks - in addition to Megan Hilty, Christian Borle, and numerous other guest stars - we thought we'd compile a list of additional theater stars we'd love to see tapped for a role in honor of the second season kicking off next week!

Multi-talented actor Hugh Jackman headlined the Philadelphia Academy of Music 156th Anniversary Concert and Ball on Saturday, January 26th. The Les Miserables star performed 'Who Am I' from the award winning film, accompanied by the Philadelphia Orchestra, for one of the city's biggest fundraising events. Executive Producer Mike Isaacson announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for its 2013 Season, which opens on June 17 with Monty Python's Spamalot. 'This is a phenomenally talented group of artists, and I'm thrilled to be working with all of them. Last season our audience inspired us to take many risks and push ourselves far. These directors and choreographers are already working on ways to top last season's level of excitement and excellence.'

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff/Artistic Producer) will present three staged readings of "Casanova", a new musical with music by Martin Sylvestri, book and lyrics by Joel Higgins, directed by Gabriel Barre. The readings will take place on Wednesday, February 6th at 6:00pm, and Thursday, February 7th at 3:00pm and 7:00pm at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street.

Hugh Jackman was the recipient of this year's Golden Globe award for Best Actor, Musical or Comedy for his role as ‘Jean Valjean' in Tom Hooper's adaptation of LES MISERABLES.

The 2013 Season is the year that Broadway and Hollywood meet at The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre. For its 19th Anniversary Season, the theatre has a line-up of shows that were hits both on the silver screen and on the Broadway stage. The first of these blockbuster shows, which will open the theatre's new season, is STEEL MAGNOLIAS, one of the most funny and heartwarming plays ever to appear on the stage.

West End star Elaine Paige, who was last seen on Broadway in FOLLIES, is set to make her Town Hall debut March 9 at 8 PM. Tickets will be available starting January 11 at Ticketmaster.com.

Five of the entertainment world's leading ladies will perform in New Orleans in 2013 as Seth Rudetsky's popular Broadway Concert Series makes the leap to NOCCA's Lupin Hall from its summer home at The Art House in Provincetown, MA. Patti LuPone, two-time Tony winner for Gypsy and as the legendary original Evita, will appear for two shows only on January 7th at 6:30 and 8:30. Sutton Foster, two-time Tony-winner for this year's Anything Goes and previously for Thoroughly Modern Millie and star of the ABC Family series Bunheads arrives for one show only on March 2nd at 7:30. Megan Mullally, two-time Emmy-winning star of TV's Will and Grace and star of Broadway's Young Frankenstein performs two shows only on April 6th at 7:30 and 9:30. Audra McDonald, a five-time Tony Award winner and recent star of Porgy and Bess on Broadway and TV's Private Practice will make her New Orleans debut with two shows only on May 18 at 7:30 and 9:30. Betty Buckley, the Tony winning legendary star of Cats and Sunset Boulevard will close the series on June 1 with two shows only at 7:30 and 9:30. The visiting Broadway artists will also be giving master classes for the NOCCA Institute's high school-aged musical theatre students. All five concerts are produced by Mark Cortale, long time producer/manager of Jeffery Roberson aka Varla Jean Merman, and will be hosted by Sirius/XM radio star Seth Rudetsky at the piano. Principal cast changes have been announced for the Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, the longest-running show in Broadway history. REBECCA, the new musical based on the classic novel by Daphne du Maurier novel, has found its male and female leads: Jill Paice will play the role of "I" and Ryan Silverman the role of "Maxim de Winter." REBECCA will open on Broadway Sunday, November 18 at The Broadhurst Theatre. Previews will begin Tuesday, October 30.

As the season launch in Fall 2012, Scott Elliott, Artistic Director of The New Group, directs Francine Volpe's The Good Mother, featuring Gretchen Mol. Jonathan Marc Sherman's new work Clive arrives in Winter 2013, directed by and featuring Ethan Hawke in the title role.
