American Conservatory Theater today announced the lineup of the company's 42nd subscription season. Running from September 2008 to July 2009, the season brings new plays, the nation's finest writers, fresh directors, and renowned performers to San Francisco, while presenting a carefully calibrated range of decades, aesthetics, and perspectives, ranging from dark comedy to serious drama, from movement-theater fusion to music-filled celebration.

Broadway leading lady Patti Cohenour stars alongside Mark Anders (San Jose Rep's popular 2 Pianos, 4 Hands) in Souvenir. 'This is an uproarious and affectionate valentine to Florence Foster Jenkins, the 'first lady of the sliding scales,' press notes state. Souvenir runs March 26 - April 20, 2008 at San Jose Repertory Theatre, 101 Paseo de San Antonio in downtown San Jose. Preview performances are March 26 and 27. Claudia Shear, the American award-winning actress and playwright, will star as 'Mama Morton' in the smash hit West End musical 'CHICAGO' at the Cambridge Theatre for an eight-week season from Monday 31 March until Saturday 25 May. Birgitte Hjort Sørensen and Rachel McDowall will continue to star as 'Roxie Hart' and 'Velma Kelly', with Terence Maynard as 'Billy Flynn' and Paul Rider as 'Amos Hart'.
