The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra welcomes guest conductor Andres Orozco-Estrada for his Heinz Hall debut in "Four Horns," A BNY Mellon Grand Classics concert weekend, March 27-29.

PITTSBURGH – Jeanette Sorrell returns to Heinz Hall as guest conductor and harpsichordist for Bach's Coffeehouse, a BNY Mellon Grand Classics weekend with concerts Friday, March 20 and Sunday, March 22.

Award-winning architect Frederick Fisher, who has earned international recognition for his work with spaces such as Bergamot Station & Galleries, Santa Monica's Annenberg Beach House and Descanso Gardens' Sturt Haaga Gallery of Art, joins the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) for its acclaimed Westside Connections series, which this season pairs LACO's virtuosic musicians with leading artists to explore connections between music and architecture, on Thursday, March 19, 2015, 7:30 pm, at the Moss Theater, located at The Herb Alpert Educational Village at New Roads School. During the program, Fisher reflects upon his collaborative approach to architecture, in conversation with special guest, Los Angeles Times architecture critic Christopher Hawthorne. A performance of Brahms' breathtaking String Quintet No. 2 in G major, Op. 111, showcases the close collaboration among LACO Concertmaster Margaret Batjer, who curates and hosts the series, LACO Principals Sarah Thornblade, violin, Roland Kato, viola, Victoria Miskolczy, viola, and Andrew Shulman, cello. Batjer is also featured in Kevin Puts' Arches for solo violin, and Thornblade and Kato join forces for Donald Crockett's To Be Sung on the Water. The series, which began in February with a guest appearance by Frank Gehry, continues in April with Hawthorne. Fisher has been described as a “maverick architect…with a broad aesthetic” (KCET). His innovative style, and his residential, museum galleries and other buildings reflect his keen interpretation of space, light and material.

The first play of ACT's 50th Anniversary Season will be packed with talent. Broadway alums and Seattle favorites Laura Griffith and Brandon O'Neill will play Maggie the Cat and Brick, one of the most iconic couples in the theatrical canon. John Aylward, a Seattle treasure who went on to make a name for himself in Hollywood with recurring roles on ER, The West Wing, and Mad Men, will play the family patriarch Big Daddy. Rounding out the cast of leading roles will be elite Seattle acting veteran Marianne Owen as Big Mama. Kurt Beattie, in his final year as Artistic Director will direct this powerhouse cast.

Tango Buenos Aires, the internationally acclaimed and most uncompromisingly authentic Tango company in the world, will make its third appearance at Segerstrom Center for the Arts dancing four performances of Song of Eva Peron this weekend, January 17 & 18, 2015 in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.

The New York Philharmonic has established an International Advisory Board (IAB) to develop relationships beyond the United States in order to support the Philharmonic's activities abroad, including regular Philharmonic residencies, educational and entrepreneurial projects, and the launch of the newly formed New York Philharmonic Global Academy. The International Advisory Board will serve as an international network of advocates and ambassadors who will connect with individuals and institutions in their home cities and countries to cultivate the Philharmonic's long-term reach and influence worldwide. IAB members will work with the Philharmonic to secure engagements, activities, and funding sources in a variety of international locations.

(Roger Rees, previously announced in the role, is no longer available.) The Band Wagon cast stars Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell, seven-time Emmy Award winner Tracey Ullman, Academy Award nominee Michael McKean, Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes, Tony Award nominee Michael Berresse and Don Stephenson. The Band Wagon will open on Sunday, November 8.

The Flea Theater has announced the newest Dance @ The Flea series, featuring four choreographers for three nights only. Molissa Fenley, Amanda Loulaki, Nina Winthrop, and Roxanne Steinberg will be presenting original works October 9-11 at 7pm.

The show, which runs from September 26 through October 19 promises to surprise and delight Michigan audiences.

From September 4-14, 2014, Houston Ballet launches its 45th season with the company premiere of John Neumeier's three-act ballet A Midsummer Night's Dream. The ballet is based on Shakespeare's lighthearted play of the same name and follows the hijinks and hilarity that ensues when a well-intentioned plan with a love potion goes awry. Created in 1977, A Midsummer Night's Dream has served as Mr. Neumeier's calling card, being seen as one of his most joyous and popular creations. Houston Ballet is the first American ballet company to perform the famous work and it is the first piece by Mr. Neumeier to enter the Houston Ballet repertoire.

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Bright Star, a new American musical featuring music by Edie Brickell and Steve Martin, lyrics by Brickell, and book by Martin, based on an original story by Martin and Brickell. Directed by Walter Bobbie, Bright Star will run September 13 - November 2, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run September 13 - September 27. Opening night is Sunday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. Single tickets go on sale on Friday, August 8 at noon.

Kumu Kahua Theatre announced their season at Kaka'ako Agora, for a full-house crowd. Kumu Kahua Theatre Artistic Director, Harry Wong, announced the season and gave descriptions and dates for each of the shows, and then a team of actors performed a reading of the first play of the season.
