A highly theatrical blend of low-end carnival, violent vaudeville, clowns with issues, and insectoid horror, elevated by original music by Sullivan and Matthew Reid that can best be described as the unholy spawn of ironic German cabaret, swampy rhythm and blues, and carnival music of the damned.

Philadelphia Theatre Company announces the director and full cast for the Pennsylvania premiere of Lynn Nottage's Sweat. This Pulitzer Prize for Drama winner explores Reading Pennsylvania's shrinking industrial economy and shares the fear, tragedy and hopefulness of a community being forced to accept inevitable change. The production will kick-off the first produced season under new Producing Artistic Director Paige Price. Justin Emeka directs a cast filled with local stars and Barrymore Award-winners who have earned extensive theatre, film and television credits. Sweat will run from October 12 to November 4, 2018 at Philadelphia Theatre Company's stage at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, 480 S. Broad Street. Michael Rosen's Chocolate Cake opens the new Spring/Summer season at Polka Theatre. The production opens with previews from 23 March and runs until 13 May. It has been adapted by the theatre's Artistic Director, Peter Glanville and Barb Jungr. Glanville also directs Mark Houston(Michael), Aminita Francis (Teacher/Mum) and Todd Heppenstall (Brother) in the production. Check out the trailer below!
