25 years after the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical production of Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic children's story The Secret Garden, the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) and the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle co-presents the timeless tale from now through December 31 at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW). Valentina Kozlova's next project is her annual 'Nutcracker Winter Suite,' December 3, 7 PM, at Symphony Space, Broadway and 95th Street, NYC.  Joining the students at Kozlova's Dance Conservatory, located in midtown Manhattan, are Kozlova students Nikita Boris and Justin Valentine.  The exceptional teen dancers, participating in Kozlova's Competition last June, were awarded scholarships to the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia, selected by Academy director Nikolai Tsiskaridze.  Justin will return to St. Petersburg after the performances to continue his one-year scholarship.  Nikita, now 16 years old, completed her scholarship and entered the October Vaganova Prix, where she received a special award for artistry and was further honored with an invitation to perform a solo from Giselle on the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.

Berkeley Rep today announced that single tickets for the world premiere of the new musical Monsoon Wedding will go on sale to the general public on Monday, November 14. Monsoon Wedding will have its world premiere at Berkeley Rep's Roda Theatre next spring. Previews begin Friday, May 5, 2017 and the show runs through Sunday, June 25, 2017. Press night for Monsoon Weddingwill be Friday, May 19, 2017.

Casting is now complete for New Yiddish Rep's highly anticipated 'God of Vengeance,' which begins previews for a five-week Off-Broadway run at La MaMa, 74A East 4th Street, starting December 22. It opens on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25 at 7:30pm.

Just announced, Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton, '24: Legacy') will join Allison Janney and John Benjamin Hickey in the Broadway revival of John Guare's Six Degrees of Separation. Hawkins will play Paul, the young con man whose trail of deceit lies at the heart of the play.

John Leguizamo presents The Q Brothers' Othello: The Remix, written, directed and composed by GQ and JQ, which will make its New York debut at the Westside Theatre (407 W. 43rd), beginning previews tonight, October 25th, and officially opening on Thursday, November 17th.

It is announced today that the Tony Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated actor Sophie Okonedo will join Damian Lewis in a new production of Edward Albee's The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?  Directed by Ian Rickson, the production will play a strictly limited 12 week season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 24th March to 24th June 2017.

Once on This Island is a one-act musical with a book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty. Based on the 1985 novel My Love, My Love; or, The Peasant Girl by Rosa Guy, it is set in the French Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean Sea. The show includes elements of the Romeo and Juliet story and elements of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Little Mermaid. It concerns a peasant girl on a tropical island, who uses the power of love to bring together people of different social classes. The original Broadway production ran from 1990 to 1991, and the West End production opened in 1994, where it won the 1995 Olivier Award for Best New Musical.

The Public Theater recently announced that Louis Cancelmi, last seen as Caliban in the Shakespeare in the Park production of The Tempest, had stepped into the company of Troilus and Cressida as Achilles, replacing David Harbour, who suffered an injury during previews and will be unable to complete the run. The play celebrates its opening tonight, August 9, after a short delay.

The Old Globe presents the world premiere of Steve Martin's new play METEOR SHOWER, an adult comedy, marking his welcome return to the Globe following the great success of Bright Star. It will be directed by Gordon Edelstein in a co-production with Long Wharf Theatre, where Edelstein serves as Artistic Director (and no, he is not related to Barry).

Declan Donnellan will be awarded the Golden Lion of Venice. The board of La Biennale di Venezia will give the co-artistic director of Cheek by Jowl the award for lifetime achievement. The ceremony takes place on 29 July at this year's Biennale festival.
