Richard Skipper as "Carol Channing" in Concert

$41.50-$76.50

"The first time EVER I have been shown with such love, respect and polish! Richard Skipper is a true musical theater star! He is FABULOUS as me!" -- CAROL CHANNING

Richard Skipper As "Carol Channing" In Concert celebrates the career and persona of the unique theatrical legend. Accompanied by a 3-piece band, Skipper blends Channning's standards with original material and other familiar songs sung in a spot-on-Channing-on-Broadway perfection. The Off-Broadway musical surveys Channing's life with many stops along the way for Skippers unique --and riotous-- "ad-lib" interactions with the audience.

Richard Skipper is a four-time recipient of the MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabaret) Award and a Back Stage Bistro Award for Best Performer. He was named one of the Top Ten Cabaret Performers by Cabaret Hotline and one of the Top of the Century Premiere Cabaret Acts by Cabaret Scenes Magazine.

"Brilliant...A real tribute." - The Boston Globe

"Skipper is no zircon...He is a diamond worthy of Tiffany's & Cartiers." - Hartford Courant

"An unqualified musical comedy gem." - Backstage Magazine

I imagine Richard Skipper must approach his embodiment of Carol Channing a bit differently than most successful female celebrity impersonators.  When doing Barbra or Eartha or Ethel there are certain idiosyncrasies one can latch onto and exaggerate as punch lines.  Channing, however, has always presented herself on stage as a sort of self-satire.  To broaden up what is already such an extreme can easily slip into vulgar mockery.
