Broadway, cabaret, and recording star KT Sullivan (Threepenny Opera, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, MAC Award-winner), who performed as "Lorelei Lee" in the 1995Broadway revival of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, attended the Wednesday January 26, 2011 performance of the critically-acclaimed Richard Skipper As "Carol Channing"In Concert at Off-Broadway's St. Luke's Theatre.
The role of "Lorelei Lee" wasoriginated by Carol Channing in the musical with music by Jule Styne, lyrics by LeoRobin, and book by Joseph Fields and Anita Loos; the film version featured MarilynMonroe in the role.Attached photos are by Glen Charlow.
Richard Skipper AS "Carol Channing" IN CONCERT celebrates the career andpersona of the unique theatrical legend. Accompanied by a three-piece band, Skipper blends Channing's standards with original material and other familiar songs sung to spot-on Channing-on-Broadway perfection.
The musical evening surveys Channing's life with many stops along the way for Skipper's unique--and riotous--"ad-lib" interactions with the audience. The critically-acclaimed Richard Skipper AS "Carol Channing" IN CONCERT, directed by Mark Robert Gordon and produced by The Camelback Kid (TCK) performs Off-Broadway at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 W. 46 th Street, in Manhattan's Theater District.
