Jason Lewis directs the regional premiere of Reefer Madness the Musical to close out ACT 1's 2016-17 season, opening June 9. A musical satire based on the 1936 cult film classic, Reefer Madness the Musical opened in Los Angeles in 1998. The book and lyrics were written by Kevin Murphy with music by Dan Studney.

The Ziegfeld Club, one of the first New York City performing arts charities to benefit women, has announced the second Liz Swados Inspiration Grant to honor an influential female music educator in New York City.

Independent Producer James Jackson is collaborating with Pulley & Buttonhole Theatre Company to present the World Premiere of two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage's One More River to Cross: A Verbatim Fugue.

Chicago Folks Operetta (CFO) is proud to announce its 2017 season titled “War and Remembrance.” Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the United States' entry into World War I, the season includes the fully staged Chicago premiere of Kurt Weill's anti-war operetta Johnny Johnson, June 24 – July 9, “Kurt Weill and Paul Green: The Story Behind Johnny Johnson,” a lecture with performances featuring Weill Scholar Tim Carter, May 24 and the CFO premiere of a concert  called Operetta and The Great War, June 28 and 29. The Warner Theatre has announced its 2017-2018 Warner Stage Company season.  The Main Stage season opens in November with AVENUE Q and follows with ONCE, THE FULL MONTY and Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID.

On Thursday, October 27, Notre Dame Film, Television, and Theatre (FTT) will hold a free public reading of the new stage adaptation of It Can't Happen Here, based on the 1935 novel written by Sinclair Lewis. In 1936, the novel was adapted into a play and theatres across the country opened productions on the same night. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of those productions, regional theatres, universities, and communities across the country will read the new adaptation by Berkeley Repertory Theatre's Artistic Director Tony Taccone and screenwriter Bennett S. Cohen.

???????Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced today A Nationwide Reading, a national series of free public readings of the new stage adaptation of It Can't Happen Here, based on the 1935 novel written by Sinclair Lewis.

The Ziegfeld Club has announced that applications for the 2016 Billie Burke Ziegfeld Award, which will provide a grant of $10,000 and a year of professional mentorship to an emerging female composer or composer/lyricist, will now be accepted through September 9, 2016.

The grant's aim is to help eliminate the lack of women composers represented on Broadway today.

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theatre Festival, announced today the initial slate of artists participating in NYMF 2016, taking place from July 11 through August 7 in Midtown Manhattan.

For this our 4Oth Anniversary Season, Kanopy will present three weekend of provocative dance-vivid performances inspired by Martha Graham's teachings of tension and release-- but works that are Kanopy's own-created in collaboration with artists and chroreographers from around the globe.

The Old Globe opens its 2015-2016 Season with IN YOUR ARMS, a World Premiere dance-theatre musical featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, Lincoln Center Theater's The King and I and South Pacific) and original music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island; two-time Oscar nominee for Anastasia). The production begins tonight, September 16, with an opening slated for September 24, and runs through October 25, 2015.

Among them, the company can claim 18 Tony Awards, 4 Pulitzer Prizes, 6 Pulitzer finalist distinctions, 3 Emmy Awards, and 2 Academy Awards; to list all their honors would take several pages.

Ford's Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault today announced the Ford's Theatre 2015-2016 season. Productions include the world-premiere play The Guard by Jessica Dickey and directed by Sharon Ott-part of the fall 2015 Women's Voices Theater Festival; The Glass Menagerie featuring Nancy Robinette; and the musical 110 In the Shade directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge and featuring Tracy Lynn Olivera. The season also includes the holiday favorite A Christmas Carol.

For the first time, they're bringing their uproarious and virtuosic sketch show, BIG Nightmare Music, to Pittsburgh when they perform with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on November 28 and 30 at Heinz Hall.

For the first time, they're bringing their uproarious and virtuosic sketch show, BIG Nightmare Music, to Pittsburgh when they perform with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on November 28 and 30 at Heinz Hall.

The world premiere of the new edition of Johnny Johnson by Paul Green and Kurt Weill, with text and music not heard since 1937, will be staged at the University of North Carolina. Performances will take place in the Kenan Theatre, Center for Dramatic Art on Thursday, November 20th at 8pm, Friday, November 21st at 8pm (post-show discussion), Saturday, November 22nd at 8pm (pre-show symposium), Sunday, November 23rd at 2pm, and Monday, November 24th at 5pm.
