The VH Theatrical Development Foundation proudly announces that after an acclaimed Off-Broadway engagement last fall, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE! (formerly titled THE BRIGHTNESS OF HEAVEN), a new play by best-selling author Laura Pedersen, will open the 2015-2016 Theater Season at the 710 Main Street Theatre (formerly Studio Arena Theater) in Buffalo, New York, with a limited engagement scheduled to play Thursday, September 17 - Sunday, October 4, 2015. Directed by Ludovica Villar-Hauser, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE! is set in Buffalo, where Ms. Pedersen was born and raised. Tickets ($45-$65) are on sale now via www.ticketmaster.com.

59E59 Theaters will welcome acclaimed actor Edward Petherbridge to Brits Off Broadway in MY PERFECT MIND, created by Told by an Idiot, written by Kathryn Hunter, Paul Hunter and Edward Petherbridge, directed by Kathryn Hunter. Produced by Told by an Idiot, Young Vic, and Theatre Royal Plymouth, MY PERFECT MIND begins performances on Wednesday, June 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 28. Today in 1991, the second Broadway revival of Peter Pan opened at the MInskoff Theatre, where it ran for 48 performances. Peter Pan is a musical adaptation of J. M. Barrie's 1904 play Peter Pan and Barrie's own novelization of it, Peter and Wendy. The music is mostly by Mark 'Moose' Charlap, with additional music by Jule Styne, and most of the lyrics were written by Carolyn Leigh, with additional lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. The original 1954 Broadway production, starring Mary Martin as Peter and Cyril Ritchard as Captain Hook, earned Tony Awards for both stars.

The current touring production of Beauty and the Beast shares the songs, dialogue, title, and even the creative team of the original Broadway production, but it completely lacks any sort of purpose, save the desire to put cash in the pockets of its producers. There's no magic or life in this pitiful production at all.

Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) launches its 24th season with grand opening performances in THE BLACK BOX, FPAC's new home and performance venue in downtown Franklin. A special kick-off weekend will introduce the theater, music and event space to the community. Anchoring a series of signature events, FPAC's annual Gala on Saturday evening, September 20, features a special, one-night-only performance by Tony® Award winner Beth Leavel and Broadway star Alexander Gemignani. On Sunday, September 21, FPAC hosts an Open House at THE BLACK BOX, inviting the public to come celebrate, tour the facility, and learn about upcoming programming and arts opportunities for Franklin and the surrounding region.
