Transport Group has announced its 2018-2019 mainstage season of two productions: Renascence, a world premiere musical about a radical and reckless poet and The Trial of the Catonsville Nine, a play about the trial that sparked a national wave of Vietnam War resistance. Renascence will run October 5 - November 17, 2018 and The Trial of the Catonsville Nine will run January 16 - February 23, 2019. Both productions will be presented at the Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand Street, New York City. Transport Group season memberships are now on sale on their website: transportgroup.org. Casting and additional staffing announcements and single ticket sales will be available at a later date.

Broadway had never seen anything like it: An anti-war rock musical featuring nudity, profanity and drugs. 'Hair,' premiering on stage in 1968, was a reflection of the turbulent times. Diane Paulus, who fell in love with the show's music at age eight, and would grow up to direct a Tony-winning Broadway revival of 'Hair' in 2009, talked with CBS Sunday Morning correspondent Susan Spencer about the importance of the show in musical theater history.

The National Park Service in partnership with Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company presents the Ellis Island Asian American Heritage Festival on Sunday, May 6, 2018, with ceremony and performances starting at 12 noon at The Great Hall of Immigrationat Ellis Island, located on the second floor of the main Ellis Island building. The Juilliard School today announced that alumnus Wynton Marsalis, trumpeter, director of Juilliard Jazz Studies, and artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center, will address the graduates at the school's 113th commencement ceremony, which takes place Friday, May 18, 2018, at 11am in Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center. Mr. Marsalis received an honorary doctor of music degree from Juilliard in 2006. This will be the final commencement for Juilliard President Joseph W. Polisi, who has had a long association with Mr. Marsalis and asked that he be the commencement speaker. In July, Damian Woetzel will begin as the school's seventh president.

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) announced today further selections for 2018 NYMF.
