Last week, The Southern California Motion Picture Council presented their Annual Golden Halo Award Presentation. Among those being honored were Ja'net DuBois, Bridget MacDonald and John Pierre, but the evenings highlight was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to actress, comedienne and humanitarian, Geri Jewell. Timeless vocalist, songwriter, and actor, Paul Anka will play the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on January 9, 2013, and continues to define the term entertainer. A true child star, Paul Anka started his vocal group at the age of 13, and by the age of 17 had garnered five top 20 hits, including "You Are My Destiny," "Crazy Love," "Let The Bells Keep Ringing," "(All of A Sudden) My Heart Sings," and the #1 single "Diana."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jim Murray, agent to the likes of Tony Bennett, Phyllis Diller, Jerry Lewis and Liza Minnelli, passed away on December 16, 2012. He was 85.
