NYU Steinhardt's Department of Music and Performing Arts will present a concert version of On the Town as part of the 100th birthday global celebration of world-renowned composer Leonard Bernstein. The collaboration between NYUO1, one of the premier orchestras of New York University, and Steinhardt's Program in Vocal Performance will take place April 28 at 8 p.m. at NYU Skirball Center (free and open to the public).

Town Hall Theatre "Generations" Season 2017-2018 closes with Kate Hamill's rollicking new adaptation of SENSE & SENSIBILITY, based on the classic novel by Jane Austen.  SENSE & SENSIBILITY will have 12 performances, including two previews, May 31 through June 23, 2018, at Town Hall Theatre Company, 3535 School Street, in Lafayette, CA.  Tickets are $18 - $30, and are available through the Box Office at (925) 283-1557 or online at www.TownHallTheatre.com.  

Abingdon Theatre Company (Tony Speciale, Artistic Director; Denise Dickens, Producing Director) has announced casting for the first production of its 25th Anniversary main stage season, The Gentleman Caller, a new play by Philip Dawkins (Charm, Le Switch, The Homosexuals).

Maestro LUKE FRAZIER and THE AMERICAN POPS ORCHESTRA - Washington, DC's innovative hometown orchestra - has announced the winners of their first annual vocal competition, "NextGen: Finding The Voices of Tomorrow." The First Place female winner is Nia Savoy (Howard University) and the First Place male winner is Evan LaChance (The Catholic University of America).

Theater J, the nation's pre-eminent professional Jewish theater, announces its 2018-2019 season, which will be presented "around town" in top cultural venues throughout the city as the historic Edlavitch DCJCC building undergoes major renovation.  Artistic Director Adam Immerwahr has selected a diverse group of plays including an acclaimed one-woman show with music at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, a new contemporary drama by Anna Ziegler at Arena Stage, a period love story by Lanford Wilson at GALA Hispanic Theatre, and a new adaptation of a Yiddish theater classic at Georgetown University. 

Tickets are now on sale for 'All the Way: The Music of Jimmy Van Heusen & Friends,' an extraordinary concert event to be produced by The Mabel Mercer Foundation on Friday, May 18th at 7:30 p.m. The special, one-time-only performance will be offered at Weill Recital Hall (part of the Carnegie Hall complex) at 154 West 57th Street.

This spring Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre (PBT) joins in international centennial celebrations for choreographer Jerome Robbins and composer Leonard Bernstein with an all-Robbins program featuring three company premieres. "UPMC Presents West Side Story Suite + In the Night + Fancy Free" with the PBT Orchestra takes the stage May 4-6, at the Benedum Center.

The fourth year of BCMF Spring, the spring series of the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival, presents three concerts featuring favorite BCMF musicians, both veteran and recent, and the acclaimed Pacifica Quartet performing some treasures of the chamber music repertoire. Bernstein, who studied at Philadelphia's Curtis Institute of Music, revolutionized music forever by blurring the lines between classical and popular, most famously with his iconic hits West Side Story, Candide, and On the Town.

1812 Productions is pleased to present a two-night only concert performance of its original holiday musical, The Carols, written by Jennifer Childs and Monica Stephenson. Jerome Robbins, world renowned for his work as a choreographer and director of ballet and theater, film and television, would have been 100 years old on October 11, 2018. In honor of his life and legacy, The Jerome Robbins Foundation, partnering with other institutions across the country and around the world, will celebrate his centennial year through Spring 2019.
