On Friday, November 13 at 7:30 pm, the MSM Jazz Orchestra - under the direction of Justin DiCioccio (MM '71) - is featuring jazz singing great and MSM alumna Jane Monheit (BM '99) in Jane's Way, a special concert celebrating the centennial of Frank Sinatra's birth. (The legendary crooner was born in Hoboken, New Jersey, on December 12, 1915.)

Tony Bennett and his wife Susan Benedetto hosted the 9th annual Exploring the Arts (ETA) 2015 gala last night at Cipriani 42nd Street in NYC, honoring George S. Kaufman, Chairman of Kaufman Organization & Kaufman Astoria Studios, and Samsung Electronics America for their outstanding longtime partnership with the organization. NBC Nightly News Anchor Lester Holt hosted the evening that was highlighted by a special performance by Emmy Award winner Uzo Aduba with a select group of students from the Frank Sinatra School. The evening was capped by a superb performance by 18-time Grammy winner Tony Bennett, who closed the evening with a medley of some of his timeless classics. Additional guests at the illustrious affair also included Orange is the New Black actresses Taylor Schilling, Samira Wiley, Taryn Manning and Selenis Leyva, who came out to support their cast mate, Alec & Hilaria Baldwin, Rachael Ray and John Cusimano, Courtney Reed, Mrs. Matilda Cuomo, Joyce Brown and Chancellor of NYC Schools Carmen Farina.

Considered one of the premier interpreters of American standards, the two-time Emmy and five-time Grammy nominated Michael Feinstein returns to Feinstein's at the Nikko with his brand-new show,Ira Gershwin & Me, for five performances only - October 7 - 11, 2015. Paying tribute to his close relationship with legendary lyricist, Ira Gershwin, Feinstein will present an evening of songs from the Gershwin songbook interspersed with personal stories from his book, 'The Gershwins and Me.' When BroadwayWorld.com Cabaret Reviewer Billie Roe was invited to the CabaretFest 2015 Provincetown scheduled for June 4-7, it was to attend as a performer, not necessarily as a reviewer. But we couldn't resist the opportunity to have Billie at least report on some aspects of the long, event-filled weekend and record some of her impressions in something akin to a diary. Based on Billie's descriptive account here, this year's Cabaret Festival in Provincetown, MA, sounds like one of the cabaret highlights of the year.

It's another busy weekend of new shows opening and many others continuing to delight audiences, with ACT 1's Dog Sees God and Street Theatre Company's Dogfight both opening tonight, while two shows that opened yesterday will continue to treat audiences to some especially wonderful music. Plus, there's a whole slate of shows being performed at Crossville's Cumberland County Playhouse, a revival of Osborne & Epplers' Southern Fried Nuptials down in Woodbury at the Arts Center of Cannon County, and John Chaffin's Cliffhanger enters its final weekend at Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre.
