The Hunter College Art Galleries present Times Square Show Revisited, an in-depth look at the original Times Square Show, on view from September 14-December 8, 2012. Times Square Show Revisited is the first focused assessment of the landmark 1980 exhibition organized by the artist group Collaborative Projects, Inc.

Today we are talking to Patricia Kelly, the widow of one of the most iconic and influential performers in entertainment history, Gene Kelly, all about her husband's incomparable career on Broadway and in Hollywood, in honor of his centennial. Tracing Gene Kelly's journey from his theatre roots starring in Cole Porter's LEAVE IT TO ME!, Rodgers & Hart's PAL JOEY and William Saroyan's Pulitzer Prize-winning THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE on Broadway to his unforgettable screen appearances in many of the greatest movie musicals ever made - COVER GIRL, SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, THE PIRATE, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS and many more included - Mrs. Kelly gives us a look into the life of one of the most important artists of the twentieth century. In addition to behind-the-scenes stories involving Kelly's frequent collaborators - such as esteemed director Vincente Minnelli, songwriter and producer Arthur Freed, arranger Saul Chaplin and others - Mrs. Kelly also shares candid anecdotes involving her husband's involvement with directing Rodgers & Hammerstein's FLOWER DRUM SONG on Broadway, helming the feature film adaptation of HELLO, DOLLY! starring Barbra Streisand, as well as his appearing in two idiosyncratic movie musicals later in his life, LES DEMOISELLES DE ROCHEFORT (THE YOUNG GIRLS OF ROCHEFORT) for Jacques Demy, as well as his au revoir to movie musicals in form of the Olivia Newton-John roller disco starrer XANADU. Keith Haring: 1978-1982, the first large-scale exhibition to explore Haring's early career, will be presented at the Brooklyn Museum from March 16 through July 8, 2012.

For the first time in New York, three of the late Brazilian avant-garde artist Helio Oiticica's rarely-seen multi-sensorial installations of color: Penetravel PN1 (1960); Penetravel Filtro (1972); and Penetravel PN28 "Nas Quebradas" (1979), will be on view at Galerie Lelong. Oiticica's invention of the Penetravel (Penetrable) series brought a new dimension to the artist's work, allowing him to create built environments and develop outdoor installations such as the well-known Magic Square series. Oiticica's Penetrables are considered among the first art installations, and have not been credited enough for their contribution to early conceptual art. Helio Oiticica: Penetrables opens to the public today, May 5, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm and the exhibition runs through June 16, 2012. The artist's brothers, Cesar and Claudio Oiticica, who direct the Projeto Helio Oiticica in Brazil will be present opening night.

Damn Yankees is headed to The 5th Avenue Theatre! This musical comedy is the story of an aging baseball fan who makes a deal with the Devil so his beloved hometown team can beat the Yankees in the race for the pennant. From the songwriting team of The Pajama Game, Damn Yankees is filled with hit songs including "Two Lost Souls" and the sultry favorite, "Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets." The Paper Mill Playhouse production will slide into Seattle this April. The creative team includes direction by Mark S. Hoebee (Paper Mill's Producing Artistic Director), music direction by Ben Whiteley, and choreography by Denis Michael Jones.
