The director is Peter Flynn and the choreographer is Devanand Janki. With a highly melodic, hummable and bouncy score with bright lyrics, "SHINE the Horatio Alger Musical", has tons of period atmosphere, nostalgic charm, comedy and entertainment. It is a hope and dreams musical with a touch of "Annie", a smidgen of "Oliver", a dash of "Tintypes" as well as a smattering of musical joys that will delight! A multi-talented cast of 18 makes this one of the largest of the festival productions. Performances will be: Thurs. 10/7 at 8pm; Sat. 10/9 at 5pm; Mon. 10/11, at 9pm; Fri. 10/15, at 1pm; Sat. 10/16, at 9pm and Sun. 10/17 at 3pm.

Producers Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich announced today that Tony Award-winners James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave will return to the New York stage this Fall to star opposite one another in the Broadway Premiere of Alfred Uhry‘s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Driving Miss Daisy. Faith Healer opened on April 29th 2010 at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts. A masterwork of twentieth-century Irish drama, the show is a disturbing and humourous mediation on relationships and the truth/lies that bind us together. Albert Schultz, Founding Artistic Director of Soulpepper Theatre Company, today announced that the company's production of Faith Healer will run April 29 - June 4, 2010, at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts.

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline may headline a production of Theresa Rebeck's POOR BEHAVIOR on Broadway in the fall of this year. According to Riedel, a 'top secret' reading of the play was held on Monday, April 19, with Weaver, Kline, Dylan Baker and Laila Robbins. Doug Hughes directed.
