America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, Music Mountain, continues its 86th anniversary season with a weekend of returning favorite musicians. The Galvanized Jazz Band plays the best of New Orleans jazz on Saturday, August 15th (6:30PM) and the St. Petersburg String Quartet with guest artists Stefan Milenkovich, Violin and Melvin Chen, Piano will perform Prokofiev, Ravel, and Chausson on Sunday, August 16th (3PM). Weekend concerts at Music Mountain will continue thru September 27th..

Berkshire Theatre Group and Artistic Director/CEO, Kate Maguire, are pleased to announce the addition of Jane's Cafe, located inside the Fitzpatrick Main Stage lobby with intimate seating for up to 36 in the back of the orchestra. Jane's Cafe, named after Jane Fitzpatrick, will be catered by The Red Lion Inn. The menu, created by The Red Lion Inn's Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage, Brian Alberg, includes handcrafted sandwiches, salads and sweets. Jane's Cafe is set to open tonight, July 2 at 5pm.

Wednesday, June 10 at 8PM, 92Y presents Drawing Music - Hyman's Piano Meets Hirschfeld's Pen. Legendary pianist Dick Hyman will perform music inspired by Al Hirschfeld's magically inked images of Broadway shows and music stars, while a selection of these drawings is shown on stage. Louise Kerz Hirschfeld, president of the Al Hirschfeld Foundation, and David Leopold, Creative Director of the Al Hirschfeld Foundation, will discuss the life and work of this original and iconic artist, and the stories behind his drawings. On Sunday evening, 54 Below celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the musical Grand Hotel on Broadway in high style with two performances crackling with energy and featuring a talented roster of performers including 13 from the original cast. Splendidly Directed (and Written) by Walter Willison, with Musical Direction by Alex Rybeck, Bass Accompaniment from Ray Kiddain, and Dance Supervision by Yvonne Marceau, the delicious production (one really can't call it a concert despite lack of dialogue) was fluid, polished, and imaginative in its use of the room. From leads to the chorus, voices were strong, commitment thorough. In the audience, Tommy Tune must've had a helluva time. We did.
