Sierra Repertory takes its audiences to the glamorous and nostalgic world of Tony Award winning musical The Drowsy Chaperone October 16 to November 22 at the East Sonora Theatre on Mono Way. The comedy begins when a die-hard musical fan, feeling blue, dusts off his favorite cast album, a fictitious 1928 hit called The Drowsy Chaperone. The show comes to life - showy, glitzy, colorful life - in his drab living room as he wryly comments on the lush music, the thin plot and the personal lives of the actors.

Actor/vocalist Kristoffer Lowe has recently racked up an impressive array of awards, including the Metropolitan Room's 2014 MetroStar, the 2015 Bistro Award for Special Achievement, and the 2015 Male Debut MAC Award for his 2014 show, Waiting For the Light to Shine. Even after such kudos, however, he's been flying somewhat under the radar. His new show, You're Getting to Be a Habit With Me, which opened at the Metropolitan Room Tuesday night (a four-show run was his reward for winning the MetroStar), spotlighted the songs of composer Harry Warren, who was often called "the invisible man." With his stellar performance, Lowe should by all rights achieve his own well-deserved notoriety. The beautifully put together show displays versatile interpretive gifts, emotional translucence, and well-calibrated vocals.

EDEN, N.C. - 'The Allens have been wronged,' states Betsy Chandler, clearing the past accusations about her very dear, upright and remarkable J. Sidna Allen family, which has been publically eyed and scrutinized for more than 100 years. She contests the claims that they were outlaws, and characterizes their allegations as outlandish fabrications and provides proof that they were not criminals. She shines 'Light in A Dark Place' (published by Xlibris) and shares Biblical Principles to guide readers to choose Christ while at the same time using facts to free her grandfather and family from the accusations of gangsterism. Bringing to light their achievements along with her testimony, she says, has become 'the prime joy of my latter existence on this earth.'
