The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra announced the November 9 release of its latest album, American Originals: 1918, under the direction of Pops Conductor John Morris Russell. The recording is inspired by America's cultural awakening at the end of the First World War one hundred years ago and the distinctly American musical styles that reflect the country's diversity. This album celebrates and reimagines popular songs of this era that remain fresh and relevant today with acclaimed musical collaborators including Rhiannon Giddens, Steep Canyon Rangers and Pokey LaFarge. The 95th Cincinnati Pops album was recorded live at Cincinnati Music Hall November 10- 12, 2017, and is being released on the Orchestra's label, Fanfare Cincinnati.

Tickets are now on sale for the 16th annual Hollywood Halloween on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018. This "50s Night at the Drive-In" themed costume party begins at 6:30 PM in The Big Room at Mainframe Studios, 900 Keo Way. Tickets are $125 per person or $75 each for young adults ages 21-35 and include complimentary food, wine, beer, and live music. Proceeds from the event benefit educational programs conducted by the Playhouse, impacting more than 7,000 children each year. The Neewollah Festival will celebrate its 60th Anniversary from October 19-27, in downtown Independence, Kansas. The famous nine day Halloween themed festival will feature live theatrical productions, concerts, three different parades, 5K/10K fun runs, pageants, a carnival, a chili cook off, vendors, food and more.

Conductor Manfred Honeck's 2018/2019 season begins with a busy fall schedule, featuring appearances with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) in September and October, and his returns to the San Francisco Symphony in October and the New York Philharmonic in November. Shortly after Honeck opened his 11th season as Music Director of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on September 15, the orchestra announced that it had extended his contract as Music Director through the 2021/2022 season.

The Mercury Theatre Colchester today announces the world premiere of Nick Perry's Moll Flanders, adapted from the novel by Daniel Defoe. The production, directed by Ryan McBryde opens on 28 September at the Mercury, and runs until 13 October.

Stepping inside the crumbling hallways of Poltimore House, audiences will be taken back to 1919 and immersed in a dark world of drinking, religion and organised crime as twisted demonic forces gradually worm their way into the minds of its inhabitants.

The music of MOLASSES IN JANUARY is performed in the traditional style of the Great American Song Book, similar to Fiddler on the Roof and Gypsy.
