Broadway In Chicago is excited to announce Tony Award winners Roger Bart and Shuler Hensley will reprise the roles of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein and The Monster in the first national tour of The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein. The Chicago engagement will play the Cadillac Palace Theatre for a limited six week engagement November 3 - December 13, 2009.

On April 7, ArkivMusic released eight long-unavailable cast recordings on cd for the first time. New releases include DisinHAIRited, Hazel Flagg, Jimmy, The Last Sweet Days of Isaac, Let It Ride!, New Faces of 1952, New Faces of '56, and The Threepenny Opera.

Contrary to reports by the New York Post last week, Mel Brooks has recently stated that he will NOT be shutting down his film company Brooksfilms. Brooks told the Hollywood Reporter that 'I'm not quitting. Brooksfilms is still here and will be going on for awhile. I'm not at all slowing down and nobody has told me to stop'.

According to the 'Page Six' section of the NY Post, Mel Brooks is closing the curtain on his film company, Brooksfilms which he started in 1980. After his popular comedies started making their way onto the big screen, Brooks started the company so his future films would not be branded with the title 'A Mel Brooks Film' and be automatically categorized into farces. The first film the company launched was 'The Elephant Man' and later produced more hits such as 'Space Balls.'

A new London-based recording company, Stage Door Records, celebrates its new label by launching four new remastered vintage albums: Wish You Were Here original Broadway cast recording, Pal Joey & On Your Toes original cast recordings (double-set), New Faces Of 1956 and Mrs. Patterson (two Broadway shows produced by Leonard Sillman in the 1950s), and Shirley Bassey - The Early Years.

The Prince plays host to a concert that will surly be the talk of the town this season with two of theater worlds most popular and occasionally over the top performers.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), now in its fourth year, is a three-week event in NYC that has premiered over 90 musicals in its first three years, becoming the largest musical theatre event in America. The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein, a new musical comedy from the creative team of the 12-time Tony Award winning smash The Producers, will open on Broadway November 8th 2007 at the Hilton Theatre (213 W 42nd St). Previews begin October 11th 2007. The production stars Roger Bart (Dr. Frederick Frankenstein), Megan Mullally (Elizabeth), Sutton Foster (Inga), Shuler Hensley (The Monster), Fred Applegate (Kemp) and Christopher Fitzgerald (Igor).

Guild Hall of East Hampton, the premier cultural institution of its kind in the area, has announced the honorees for its 20th Annual Lifetime Achievement Awards Gala to be held on Monday, March 14, 2005 at the Rainbow Room, New York City. The distinguished honorees for the year 2004, selected by the 200 member Guild Hall Academy of the Arts, are composer/lyricist Sheldon Harnick for Performing Arts, novelist Louis Begley for Literary Arts, photographer/artist Cindy Sherman for Visual Arts and real estate developer and philanthropist Marshall Rose for Lifelong Patron of the Arts.
