Second Thought Theatre closes its 2017 season of change with the world premiere of The Necessities by Dallas-based playwright and artist Blake Hackler. MasterVoices (formerly The Collegiate Chorale), closes its 75th anniversary season with Victor Herbert's Babes in Toyland on April 27, 2017 at 7pm at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall (57th Street and 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10019). The production will be conducted and directed by MasterVoices' Artistic Director Ted Sperling and will feature Kelli O'Hara (Contrary Mary), Bill Irwin (Master Toymaker), Christopher Fitzgerald (Alan), Lauren Worsham (Jane), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Tom Tom), Jonathan Freeman (Uncle Barnaby), Chris Sullivan (Gonzorgo), Jeffrey Schecter (Roderigo), Michael Kostroff (Chief Inspector Marmaduke), and Blair Brown (The Narrator), with the 130 singers of MasterVoices and Orchestra of St. Luke's. Musical Staging by Andrew Palermo, Costume Consulting by Tracy Christensen, and Concert Adaptation by Joe Keenan and Ted Sperling.

The New York Philharmonic has announced the 2016-17 season's Insights at the Atrium series, free events exploring themes of the Philharmonic's concert season through multimedia lectures, conversations, and panel discussions. Expanding to eight events this season, Insights at the Atrium has gained in popularity since its inception in 2011, helping thousands of audience members delve more deeply into the music, musicians, and ideas featured in the Philharmonic's season through a dynamic and accessible forum. All events are held at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center and begin at 7:30 p.m.

Following the success of the previous two festivals, the 3rd Annual New York Hot Jazz Festival -- produced by the impresario Michael 'Misha' Katsobashvili, performer Bria Skonberg, and composer/producer Patrick Soluri (of Prohibition Productions and The Salon) -- returns to The Players this year and promises some of the biggest stars of the Hot Jazz and swing scenes in a summit of uptown and downtown talent spanning three generations.
