Award-winning, celebrated vocalist, Broadway star, and recording artist Karen mason returns with her first CD release in nine years.

JOSEFINA LOPEZ, the award-winning playwright and screenwriter, the creator of the pop culture play and film, Real Women Have Curves, and the Founding Artistic Director of CASA 0101 Theater is about to give birth to yet another artistic milestone in her career, that of Restaurateur.  That's right!  Although primarily universally known as a writer, Josefina Lopez is also a Culinary Chef who graduated with a Supreme Diploma from the renowned Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France.  She has also attended the New School of Cooking in Culver City where she studied cuisine with a California touch and making pastries, as well as the Gourmandise Cooking School in Santa Monica, where she studied chocolate making, bread making, pasta making and pastries.

It is The Coterie's favorite time of the year when world premiere readings from members of The Coterie's Young Playwrights' Roundtable will be showcased during the annual Young Playwrights' Festival at 7:00 p.m., May 7, at The Coterie Theatre, located on level 1 of the Crown Center Shops. On stage will be thirteen staged readings including monologues, spoken word, short plays, and excerpts from the WORDS + MUSIC project: five moments of new opera, as created by UMKC Conservatory composers in collaboration with Roundtable members, and staged with singers on the roster of the Lyric Opera.

Jason Forbach, who was recently featured in the Broadway revival of Les Miserables and Phoenix Best who made her Broadway debut in The Color Purple will star in this summer's production of Evita at Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.

Karen Mason - the acclaimed Broadway star and concert artist - comes home with her new show "Mason at Mama's in May" at Don't Tell Mama (343 West 46th Street in Manhattan), which will be performed every Sunday and Monday in May at 7:00 PM. 

MasterVoices (formerly The Collegiate Chorale), closes its 75th anniversary season with Victor Herbert's Babes in Toyland on April 27, 2017 at 7pm at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall (57th Street and 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10019). The Minnesota Orchestra announces plans today for Sommerfest 2017, unveiling a celebratory summer festival in which the Orchestra salutes two of its artistic leaders: Doc Severinsen on his 90th birthday, and Sommerfest Artistic Director Andrew Litton, who has announced that this summer will mark his final season as the head of the festival. Running from July 3 to August 5, Minnesota Orchestra's summer season includes two tribute concerts to Pops Conductor Laureate Severinsen; performances by Litton and his friends André Watts, William Wolfram and New York City Ballet dancers; and culminates with the opera Litton has long wanted to conduct in Minnesota, Strauss' Salome. The summer season also involves the annual Symphony for the Cities concerts, two previously announced regular season programs and the return of the Minnesota Orchestra Fantasy Camp.
