New Theatre Project Announces New Lineup for Second Season

After an unexpected move to Ypsilanti, The New Theatre Project announces adjustments and additions to the lineup for Season 2: Revelation. The new season will be offered at the newly opened Mix Studio Theatre, a new addition to the downtown Ypsilanti boutique where 'cool. people. mix.' Entrances to the theater are through the store at 130 W. Michigan Ave. or via the Washington St. entrance. As part of the exciting move downtown, TNTP will now offer credit card sales but ticket prices stay constant at the low price of $10 and $15. Come early to explore beautiful downtown Ypsi and shop at Mix, open every day prior to the shows.

25th Anniversary Les Mis Docks at Ahmanson

There are not enough superlatives to describe the magnificence of Les Miserables. The musical score and the scope of the storytelling - so grand - are nothing short of breathtaking. Now the 25th anniversary production triumphantly plays the Ahmanson Theatre through July 31 with top-notch direction from Laurence Connor and James Powell and a stunning ensemble. This production plays more realistically than past renderings but it serves to enhance rather than diminish.

Students in grades 4 through 8 who live and go to school on Staten Island are invited to present an original idea for a new invention/product or an improvement on an existing one-anything from a helpful kitchen gadget to a machine that does your homework for you.

Collagraphy is a printing technique where the plate is built up by gluing various materials and textures in layers, ink is added to the plate and transferred to paper via a press, thus creating a collagraphy print. Collagraphs are original prints, and can be signed and framed. This is an exciting and unique form of printmaking.

Stavovské divadlo je jednou z nejkrásnijších historických divadelních staveb v Evropi. Aristokrat František Antonín hrabi Nostic Rieneck, vystielil touhou zvýšit kouzlo jeho rodného mista a myslích svých spoluobiani, byl postaven stavby. Trvalo ne docela dva roky postavit a divadlo bylo oficiálni otevieno v roce 1783 první vystoupení této tragédie Emilia Galotti do Lessing. Pivodni bylo divadlo daboval Nosticovo hrabicí divadlo. Tento výjimeiný projekt pro Prahu iasu odpovídá pievažující ducha na konci 18. století, kdy byly národní divadla staví na evropské soudy, ve mistech a kulturních centrech v souladu s vizí osvícení podporována usnadniním obecný piístup do divadla, za mají být morální instituce demonstrující kulturní úrovei národa. Nápis nad portálem ite Patriae et Musis - Chcete-li rodné zemi a piemítá. Toto motto slouží jako dikaz zakladatele pivodního zámiru a neztratilo svou platnost dodnes. Když bylo toto divadlo spojené Národního divadla, jeho motto 'Národ sobi', se stal piirozeným doplikem první.

Frank Kuhn directs The Drunkard at Metropoiitan 9/18-10/17

Metropolitan Playhouse, 'theatrical archaeologist extraordinaire' (Backstage), presents a revival of The Drunkard, or The Fallen Saved by W. H. Smith. First presented in Boston in 1844, and later by P.T. Barnum in New York in 1848, The Drunkard now receives its first professional production in the city since 1993. Frank Kuhn comes to New York to direct Metropolitan's revival at 220 E 4th Street September 18th through October 17th, 2010.

Part of the Arts and Ideas series of performances, lectures and conversations, The Friend Center for the Arts at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco (JCCSF) today announced details of its comprehensive Performing Arts programming for 2010/11. The eclectic array of performances in the intimacy of Kanbar Hall will include a tribute to Stephen Sondheim on the occasion of his 80th birthday by Broadway star Liz Callaway; performances of The Laramie Project by Moisés Kaufman's Tectonic Theater Project; Viva Cuba! With Carlos Reyes; and the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company. Returning favorites include the Harlem Gospel Choir, the Great Broadway Sing-Along: the comedy of The Capitol Steps; and The Jewish Theatre with a production of Neil Simon's Lost in Yonkers.
