Hockadoo! The 2010 Tony Award winning Best Musical MEMPHIS just celebrated 1,000 performances on Broadway yesterday, March 14th at the 2pm matinee performance. Memphis stars Montego Glover, Chad Kimball, Adam Pascal, Derrick Baskin, James Monroe Iglehart and John Jellison were in attendance, as well as Memphis book and music writers Joe DiPietro and David Bryan, Memphis choreographer Sergio Trujillo, and Rent's Anthony Rapp.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced today that Kenny and Marleen Alhadeff, NAMT members and partners in Junkyard Dog Productions, have made a four-year pledge to support NAMT's National Fund for New Musicals, a program that awards grants to not-for-profit member theatres to support the development of new works. This grant helps match a 5-year leadership pledge made by Stacey Mindich in 2011. Together, these contributions create a solid, vital foundation on which NAMT will build the future of this young program.

Hockadoo! The 2010 Tony Award winning Best Musical MEMPHIS announced today that it will celebrate 1,000 performances on Broadway on Wednesday, March 14th at the 2pm matinee performance. MEMPHIS also just announced that stars Montego Glover and Adam Pascal will continue in their respective roles as "Felicia Farrell" and "Huey Calhoun" through October 2012.

Original Broadway cast member J. Bernard Calloway will return to the company as 'Delray,' following his performance in the critically acclaimed Jitney at the Two River Theater Company. Calloway will resume performances on Tuesday, February 28th. Christopher Jackson played his final performance on Sunday, February 26th.

The Inspire Change Talkback Series celebrating Black History Month, minorities, and their impact on the entertainment industry, will begin on Thursday, February 9th. Immediately following 7pm performances of MEMPHIS on Thursdays in February, patrons will be invited to participate in a talkback about the role of minorities in various aspects of the performing arts including dance, music and theater. Each talkback will feature a guest moderator along with cast members from the show.

Hockadoo! The 2010 Tony winning Best Musical MEMPHIS announced today that Broadway veteran Christopher Jackson (In the Heights, The Lion King) will join the cast of MEMPHIS as "Delray." Jackson is scheduled to begin performances on Tuesday, January 24th. Current "Delray" J. Bernard Calloway will play his final performance on Sunday, January 22nd, before taking a leave of absence to appear in Two River Theater Company's production of August Wilson's Jitney. Calloway is expected to return to MEMPHIS February 28th.
