A great, big Broadway season is on its way, with fourteen productions already slated to open in the next few months. With several weeks until the craziness begins, there is still plenty of time to catch up on what's been going on at Broadway's already occupied theaters . BroadwayWorld will be profiling the hits of the Great White Way that continue to draw crowds after months, years, and (in some cases) decades. For the fourth show in their 43rd annual summer season, Cortland Repertory Theatre presents the New York State premiere of the new mystery/comedy "Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily" by Katie Forgette. Performances will run from July 30th - August 9th with evening performances at 7:30 PM. Matinees are available on August 1st, 5th, and 6th at 2:00 PM. Legendary director/writer/producer Garry Marshall will direct the Vineyard Theatre's New York debut of Mike Bencivenga's comedy BILLY & RAY this fall, with performances set to begin October 2 and an opening night scheduled for October 20 at The Vineyard, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, Artistic Director, and Sarah Stern, Co-Artistic Director.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) invites writers to meet more than eleven real producers face-to-face at the Writer-Producer Speed Date: The Art of the Pitch on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 5:30pm and 6:30pm at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street, 3rd Floor NYC. Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestra's begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven- o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. For those who didn't have the opportunity to meet the cast and crew of East Lynne Theater Company's 'The First Fifty Years' at the opening night after-show party at Pier House Restaurant on June 11, another chance is to be had on Friday, June 20 at an after-show Q&A. It's a wonderful opportunity for patrons to ask actors, director, and technical team such questions as 'why do they do what they do?' and 'how do they do it?'

Somehow, I think your normal GLEE-capper, Robert Lawlor, knew this was going to be a down week for GLEE when he asked me to pinch-hit for him (don't worry if you don't know what that means, it's a sports term). While I have been generally quite pleased with the majority of episodes over the last two seasons, this episode felt like a throwback to Season 2 or 3, where far too many episodes felt like simply filler. While they might have ultimately been entertaining, they primarily served as a placeholder until we got to the more plot-specific episodes. With Kurt's attack last week and Rachel's 'Funny Girl' opening a week away, this episode felt disappointingly like a very low-stakes buffer between the two.

Remember those sappy romances from the 1930's and 1940's? Think you've seen 'em all? Think you've seen enough of 'em, already? Guess again: England's Kneehigh Theater, currently in residence at the Landsburgh, breathes new life into the old genre, and not only makes them a joy to watch, they've managed a few technical marvels as well.

Venue Theatre presents Wally's Cafe by Sam Bobrick and Ron Clark from today, March 14-30, 2014. Today and Saturday performances are at 8 pm and Sunday at 2:30 pm.

All the Way, the new play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan, starring BREAKING BAD's Bryan Cranston, is currently in previews on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre. The production officially opens on Thursday, March 6, 2014 for a strictly limited engagement. The play is directed by Bill Rauch, Artistic Director of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, where All the Way began its theatrical life.
