Cornelia Street Cafe Announces Performances Through 6/7

Ian Talbot will direct Peter Sham and Brad Carroll's new musical comedy, Lend Me A Tenor The Musical, based on the award-winning West End and Broadway hit comedy by Ken Ludwig. A riotous, unpredictable explosion of mistaken identities and unexpected romance, Lend Me A Tenor The Musical will run at the Theatre Royal Plymouth from 24 September - 6 October 2010, prior to an anticipated West End run in the Autumn which will be produced by Martin Platt and David Elliott in association with Eileen and Allen Anes.

Trudie Goodwin, perhaps best known as Sergeant June Ackland in The Bill will star as Mrs Reynolds in the world premiere of Mrs Reynolds and the Ruffian, a play about modern Britain by Gary Owen, Watford Associate and writer of the 2007 hit, We That Are Left.

The Drogheda Arts Festival will close the 2010 Festival kicking off on Monday 3 May. The festival hosted an exciting lineup of local, national, and international artists including the first visit to Ireland by acclaimed Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina, a world premiere of a work by Conall Quinn from Upstate Live, music, visual art, family fun and outdoor celebration, and lots more.

CHESS opened at the Signature Theatre on August 10 and will run through September 26. The cast is lead by Jill Paice (Curtains, The 39 Steps) as Florence Vassy, Euan Morton (Boy George in Taboo, Sondheim on Sondheim) as Anatoly Sergievsky and Jeremy Kushnier (Footloose, Rent) as Freddie Trumper. The rock musical is directed by Signature's Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer. Written by Mamma Mia! composers Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson with Evita and Lion King lyricist Tim Rice, the 1984 cult musical of Cold War competition in love and chess is being given its first major Washington area production. Chess is being performed in the fabulous intimacy of the 276-seat MAX Theatre.

The contemporary work embodies the many different styles of Khan's multinational company, fusing traditional South Asian dance with modern movement.

Following critical acclaim and popular demand, Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced a three-week extension for the World Premiere of THIS, the new play by Obie Award winner Melissa James Gibson (Suitcase, [sic]). Directed by Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin ([sic], eight seasons as Artistic Director of Soho Rep), the production opened Wednesday, December 2. Originally set to run through Sunday, December 13, the limited engagement will now play through Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the theater company's Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street). This date represents the latest extension possible for the show.
