Unity in Chicago is pleased to present 1980's disco legend LINDA CLIFFORD - LIVE IN CONCERT! This one night only event will be held Friday, August 26, 2016 at Unity in Chicago, 1925 W. Thome Ave. in Chicago. The five-time Grammy nominee will perform an evening of hits including "If My Friends Could See Me Now," "Bridge Over Troubled Water," "Runaway Love," Fame's "Red Light" and other chart-toppers. 

This fall, Goodman Theatre combines world-class magic with a human story of loss and love in the world premiere of The Magic Play, by Andrew Hinderaker and directed by Halena Kays, starting October 21.

After the sold-out and award-winning success of The Day Shall Declare It in 2015, Wilderness returns to the Los Angeles Arts District to remount its immersive, site-specific theatre experience, opening Tuesday, May 10, 2016 and running through Sunday, June 19, 2016. [UPDATE: The show has been extended thru July 31st by popular demand!] The internationally acclaimed physical theatre piece weaves together dynamic movement with a collage of American labor literature from Tennessee Williams and Studs Terkel, exploring the concept of work in America: what it does for us - and what it does to us. 

1st Stage's production is - for me, at least - a very, very welcome addition to the 2015-2016 theatre season. While Guettel's intricate and original score is, quite simply, extraordinary - and reason enough to make the trek to the McLean/Tysons Corner area to hear it sung live - Director Nick Olcott and his talented and committed cast and design team offer other reasons to pay this little gem of a production a visit.

Theatre, dance, politics, music, photography, and multimedia art will intertwine during Theatre Junction GRAND's exciting 2016/2017 Season. It is also the 10th anniversary of Theatre Junction at The Grand and the 25th anniversary of Theatre Junction. 

Goodman Theatre announces Broadway stars John Dossett and Douglas Sills will join the cast of War Paint, a new musical starring two-time Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole as Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden, respectively. Dossett will portray Tommy Lewis, Miss Arden's husband and chief marketing officer, and Sills will portray the ambitious Harry Fleming, Madame Rubinstein's clubby confidante and faithful ally.

In conjunction with a production of playwright Lorraine Hansberry's final work, The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window, Goodman Theatre presents a Lorraine Hansberry Celebration (today, April 30, through June 5), curated by Goodman Resident Director Chuck Smith.

One of the hidden elements entwined in Noel Coward's wry play Fallen Angels becomes the French love song 'Memes les Anges'--which translates the first line to: 'Even the angels succumb to love.' On stage in the beautiful Cabot Theatre,  Milwaukee Chamber Theatre's  (MCT) delightful production of Coward's 1925 play, written when he was in his 20's, use this love song's words combined with the lyrics to Cole Porter's 'Let's Misbehave' to underpin the deceptive meaning of the scintillating humor in Coward's words.

Milwaukee Chamber Theatre closes it 2015-2016 season with the stylish, witty and sparking classic, FALLEN ANGELS by the master of comedy Noe?l Coward, April 14 - May 1, 2016. Producing Artistic Director C. Michael Wright will direct MCT favorites Kay Allmand, Matt Koester, Beth Mulkerron, Rick Pendzich, Molly Rhode and Chase Stoeger. FALLEN ANGELS performs in the Broadway Theatre Center's Cabot Theatre in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.

Developed and co-directed by Annie Saunders and Sophie Bortolussi (Punchdrunk's Sleep No More), The Day Shall Declare It will run for a limited time, to audiences of only thirty people per show. The intimate performances will run six nights a week, Tuesday through Sunday, with doors opening at 8:00pm and performances beginning at 8:30pm. The 2016 version sees the addition of  "The Paradise," an exclusive pop-up bar with live music curated by Vagrant Bartenders. Wilderness, an experimental performance company that brings temporary theatrical experiences to vacant buildings awaiting redevelopment, presents this work in partnership with Ad Age Standout 2015 production company HeLo, and in association with Los Angeles Performance Practice and Imperial Art Studios. Cleveland Play House's Centennial Season continues with MR. WOLF, an intense and compelling drama about faith, hope and healing.

Between 1925 and 1950, Luella Pool Saxby wrote a story about her great-grandmother's life, taken directly from her diaries, but she never fulfilled her dream of publishing her work. Handing it to her granddaughter, Joan, just weeks before she died, Saxby's wish has come true with 'But One Husband: The Truth about Mormon History by a Woman Who Lived It' (published by iUniverse), a true, historical autobiography of Sarah Ann Thirkell. Joan embarks on a new marketing campaign for the book.

This summer marks another historic milestone for the annual Bard SummerScape festival. For the first time since its founding, this season's focus is on the music and culture of Italy, with seven weeks of music, opera,theater, dance, film, and cabaret keyed to the theme of the 27th Bard Music Festival, "Puccini and His World." This intensive examination of the life and times of Giacomo Puccini opens a window onto Italy's rich musical heritage from Palestrina to Menotti, by way of the most popular and successful - yet, paradoxically, frequently critically underrated - opera composer of all time. Complementing the music festival, some of the Tuscan master's most compelling compatriots provide other key SummerScape highlights. An epic global portrait of the modern world and the artist's role within it, 2666 by the late Chilean author/poet Roberto Bolaño appears in a world premiere stage adaptation at Goodman Theatre, by its Tony Award-winning Artistic Director Robert Falls and Playwright-in-Residence Seth Bockley.

San Francisco Opera General Director David Gockley and Music Director Nicola Luisotti today announced the Company's 2016–17 Season repertory and roster of international guest artists, conductors and creative teams scheduled to appear at the War Memorial Opera House, as well as initial programming for SF Opera Lab 2017 presentations at the Diane B. Wilsey Center for Opera's Taube Atrium Theater. The Company's 94th Season will also mark Matthew Shilvock's inaugural year as San Francisco Opera's new general director, succeeding his mentor and internationally respected impresario, David Gockley, who will step down on July 31, 2016.

A talented son's passion for music versus his deep commitment to his father and his heritage is the heart and soul of the classic story of THE JAZZ SINGER. A musical version of THE JAZZ SINGER, based upon the 1925 play by Samson Raphaelson will run from tonight, January 8th through January 24th at the Willow Theatre in Sugar Sand Park.

The first celebration of 2016 will be held at Old School Square Pavilion on Sunday, January 10, at 6 pm. GOOD VIBRATIONS will spotlight some of America's favorite classic rockers: Micky Dolenz of The Monkees; Felix Cavaliere of The Rascals; Mark Farner, founder of Grand Funk Railroad; Steve Augeri, the former lead singer of Journey; and John Cafferty and Michael 'Tunes' Antunes of the Beaver Brown Band, which was featured in the hit film Eddie & The Cruisers.
