BWW Reviews: Imaginative PETER PAN Flies High at OCPAC
by Michael L. Quintos - Oct 4, 2010
A charming hit direct from London (which later debuted in the U.S. for our neighbors up north in San Francisco over the summer), PETER PAN--now performing its only Los Angeles- and Orange County-area engagements at the Orange County Performing Arts Center through November 21--uses advanced projection technologies, clever staging and design, gravity-defying flying sequences, and an engaging ensemble cast to produce a spry new take on the classic JM Barrie tale. This production of PETER PAN is quite unlike anything ever produced before... certainly putting 'imagine' in re-imagined.
Falls Goes Minimalistic for THE SEAGULL
by Nicole Rosky - Sep 7, 2010
Artistic Director Robert Falls trades epic for minimalistic in his actor-centric revival of Anton Chekhov's classic The Seagull, with a cast that includes some of Chicago's most celebrated talent. The culmination of two years of meticulous research and preparation, this production of The Seagull marks a departure from Falls' recent large-scale work-and a focus on the method of Konstantin Stanislavsky, the man often credited as 'the father of modern theater.' An ensemble of 14 brings this 19th century masterpiece to life, including Francis Guinan, making his Goodman debut as the retired judge Sorin, and Mary Beth Fisher as his sister, Arkadina, a beautiful, selfish actress. For this revival, Falls has tapped an acclaimed, award-winning design team-Todd Rosenthal (Set), Ana Kuzmanic (Costumes), Keith Parham (Lighting) and Richard Woodbury (Sound). Goodman Theatre continues to celebrate its 10th season in Chicago's North Loop Theatre District with The Seagull, which runs October 16 - November 14, 2010 in the Owen Theatre; tickets are $10 - $45. Kirkland & Ellis LLP is the Contributing Sponsor of The Seagull.

'I found Pedro Rivas in New York; sent him back to his country, and made him President. My brains. My money. They think I'm only the new American Consul, but when they go to Rivas for a concession, he'll say, 'Have you seen Bowie?' I'm the Dictator of that Republic, and he knows it. I'm the kingmaker, the Warwick, the man behind the throne. Pedro Rivas can be President, but Colonel John T. Bowie is boss.'

Broadway Unplugged: Third Time's The Charmingest
by Jena Tesse Fox - Nov 19, 2006
This year's Broadway Unplugged concert may well have been the best of the three: every song and singer were perfectly matched and beautifully performed, and almost no singers were able to leave the stage without being called back for an extra bow
