Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) opens it's latest production, TRUST, starring Zach Braff, Bobby Cannavale, Sutton Foster, and Ari Graynor tonight, August 12. TRUST is written by Paul Weitz and directed by Peter DuBois. Mr. Weitz returns to Second Stage Theatre, where his plays Privilege and Show People premiered in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Directed by Peter DuBois, who staged Second Stage's acclaimed production of Becky Shaw, TRUST began previews on Friday, July 23 at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43rd street). The production runs through September 5.

Philadelphia Theatre Company kicks off its 35th Anniversary Season with PTC@PLAY, a new play festival running October 5-21 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets). The Festival, with staged readings of works by established playwrights as well as new voices, features Casa Cushman, by Leigh Fondakowski in conjunction with the Tectonic Theater Project, Strongman's Ghost by Jeffrey Hatcher, What We're Up Against by Theresa Rebeck, How To Write A New Book For The Bible by Bill Cain and Milk Like Sugar by Kirsten Greenidge. All readings are free with curtain time at 7:00 PM.

Tickets for the upcoming Broadway production of George Bernard Shaw's play Mrs. Warren's Profession go on sale to the general public on July 30. The production, to be produced by the Roundabout Theatre Company, will star Tony® Award winner Cherry Jones as Kitty Warren and Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins making her Broadway debut as Vivie Warren and will be directed by Tony® Award winner Doug Hughes at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd St). The cast will also feature Adam Driver as Frank Gardner, Mark Harelik as Sir George Crofts, Edward Hibbert as Mr. Praed and Michael Siberry as Reverend Samuel Gardner.

Noël Coward is alive and well at Cygnet Theatre! With the current run of Coward's PRIVATE LIVES receiving raves on the mainstage, Associate Artistic Director Francis Gercke has assembled a stellar cast of San Diego favorites to deliver a staged reading of his most famous drama, THE VORTEX. The one-night only reading will be performed Monday, June 21st, 2010 at 7:00pm in Cygnet's Old Town Theatre. The festival will feature staged reading performances of new plays and, in its fourth year, the Northwest Arkansas 24-Hour Play-Off, a marathon competition awarding a $1,000 Jury Prize.
