Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced the roster for Lincoln Center's fourth multidisciplinary White Light Festival, today October 24 through November 23, 2013.

Music Director Alan Gilbert opens the New York Philharmonic's 2013-14 season with the Opening Gala concert, headlined by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, tonight, September 25, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Gilbert will conduct Mr. Ma and the Orchestra in two works by Argentinian composers: the World Premiere of Octavio Brunetti's arrangement, commissioned by the New York Philharmonic, of a suite from Astor Piazzolla's La serie del Ángel, and Osvaldo Golijov's Azul, composed for the eminent cellist. The program opens with Ravel's Alborada del gracioso and closes with Bolero, two pieces that reflect the French composer's fascination with Spain. The concert will be telecast nationally on Live From Lincoln Center at a later date, and Classical 105.9 FM WQXR at 7:30 p.m.

Berkshire Theatre Group presents Mary and Edith: Musings by Women a Century Apart at the Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge. The production opens October 4 and closes on October 20.

The Festival's focus is music's capacity to illuminate the many dimensions of our interior lives, with a particular emphasis this year on the power of the voice. Spanning numerous musical traditions, genres, and disciplines, the Festival will offer 23 performances, films, and events featuring seven premieres and debuts by artists and companies from more than a dozen countries, including France, India, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, the U.K., Mali, Estonia, Italy, Austria, Canada and the U.S. New to this edition of the Festival is White Light on Film, film screenings followed by discussions with their directors. Other Festival components include: a panel discussion focused on the subject of time, pre- and post-performance artist discussions, and the popular post-performance White Light Lounges.

Reviving important but neglected operas is one of the ways the Bard SummerScape festival in New York's Annandale-on-Hudson has established itself as "a hotbed of intellectual and aesthetic adventure" (New York Times).

NY1 Anchor Roma Torre hosted the free concert event Spotlight on Town Hall last night, March 28, which also featured a special performance from Smash star and Tony-nominee Jeremy Jordan. Also included were performances from the Broadway productions of Chicago and The Phantom of the Opera, Off-Broadway's Avenue Q, The New York City Gay Men's Chorus and The Town Hall Broadway's Rising Stars Chorus. Riverside Theatre's Simply Amazing Season continues with the Broadway smash musical hit, Funny Girl. Barrie's stirring, lyrical tale about the tricks of time, loss of innocence and eternal youth. "Mary Rose" opens tonight, October 31, 2012, with a limited run through November 18 in the Studio Theatre of the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center (HVPA) on the campus of HCC.

The Town Hall, New York City's landmark theatre and concert venue (123 West 43rd Street) honors two influential individuals: Dr. Charlotte K Frank, Senior Vice President of McGraw Hill and Chair of the Town Hall Arts and Education Committee, and Marvin Leffler, in recognition of 34 years as President of The Town Hall. They will receive The Town Hall's 'Friend of the Arts' Award tonight, October 21st, 2012.

It was a very clever idea playwright Jeffrey Hatcher had, to write a Chekhovian style comedy about American theatre's royal couple, Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, set in their country home as they prepare to go into rehearsal for a production of The Seagull.  And Ten Chimneys, named after the Wisconsin estate that provides the play's setting, frequently lives up to that cleverness; though its wit could be somewhat sharper and its character study could go a bit deeper in order to match the potential of the idea.

The smash-hit exhibition Star Quality: The World of Noël Coward will close on August 18 after a five-month, twice-extended run. The show focuses on Coward as playwright, composer, director, stage, screen, cabaret performer, and international celebrity, and represents the most comprehensive exhibition on Noël Coward ever assembled, including unique material from the collections of The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Since it opened on March 11, 2012, the Exhibition has attracted over 17,000 visitors.

On Sunday 1st April, Award-winning actress Tyne Daly who is currently playing the legendary opera soprano Maria Callas on stage at the Vaudeville Theatre visited the CHRISTINA O yacht where Callas and Aristotle Onassis carried out their love affair. Joining Tyne on this exclusive tour were fellow cast member Jeremy Cohen, Naomi O'Connell, and Dianne Pilkington.

"Almost 91 years later, there are still people who have not heard about the Tulsa Riots and the devastation to the town of Greenwood," McCallum says. "In fact, this year is the first year that Tulsa public schools will include the riots as part of the curriculum; it still remains absent in many history books in the U.S. What happened in Greenwood should never be forgotten, and I hope this play in some small way, honors the citizens of 'Black Wall Street.'"
