Here the quartet follow the beam from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Fugue in C-sharp minor (The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I) through Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 14, to Béla Bartók’s String Quartet No. 1.
