Romance of the Rose Productions announces the first casting for the new West End musical Knights of the Rose. Directed by Racky Plews and created by Jennifer Marsden, Knights of the Rose opens on 29th June for 9 weeks only at The Arts Theatre. Leading the noble Knights is Adam Pearce (King Aethelstan) who is joined by Chris Cowley (Palamon), Oliver Saville (Hugo), Rebecca Bainbridge (Queen Matilda / Bess), Rebekah Lowings (Isabel), Matt Thorpe (Horatio), Ruben Van keer (John), Katie Birtill (Hannah) and Bleu Woodward (Emily). Ian Gareth-Jones, Kelly Hampson and Tom Bales make up the ensemble.

Set amidst the cornfields of Iowa in 1965, this passionate musical follows the unexpected affair of a devoted Italian-born housewife and a roving National Geographic photographer set over four sensual, heart-stirring days. Brilliantly adapted by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning playwright Marsha Norman ('night Mother, The Secret Garden, The Color Purple) with music and lyrics by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown (Parade), it captured the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical Score. The Muny announced today the leading trio that will star in the theatre's centennial season production of Singin' in the Rain, June 27 - July 3. Broadway, film and television stars Corbin Bleu and Jeffrey Schecter will portray Don Lockwood and Cosmo Brown, respectively, and former Muny Kid, Muny Teen and Indiana University student Berklea Going will star as Kathy Selden. Dr. John Fyer is a seminal but little-known LGBT civil rights pioneer and is memorialized in the play 217 Boxes of Dr. Henry Anonymous written and directed by three-time Obie award-winning playwright Ain Gordon. Originally commissioned by the Historical Society of Pennsylvania and underwritten by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, the Pick Up Performance Co(s) production is presented by Equality Forum, a national and international LGBT civil rights organization. St. Ann's Warehouse welcomes back the Donmar Warehouse to present the American screen premieres of their acclaimed, visceral all-female Shakespeare Trilogy-Julius Caesar, Henry IV, and The Tempest-directed by Phyllida Lloyd, May 31-June 3. In 2016, following a 13-week final repertory season, the plays were filmed in front of a live audience in London and edited for the screen to include separately shot, hand-held and GoPro footage breaking the formality of the traditional live camera "capture" of stage productions.
