The London-based Shakespeare's Globe will bring their global touring production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet to Folger Theatre for three performances only on July 25 and 26, 2014, making it the only east coast stop for the company in the United States. Directed by Dominic Dromgoole and Bill Buckhurst, the production is a fresh, pared-down version of the classic tragedy of deferred revenge.

The concert version of NERDS, a new Broadway-bound musical, tonight, Wednesday, June 11 at 54 Below, 254 W. 54th Street, is now sold out. The concert will feature a cast of Broadway favorites, including Theater World Award winner Wesley Taylor ("Smash," Rock of Ages), Helen Hayes Award winner Lauren Molina (Candide, Sweeney Todd), Charlie Pollock (Violet, Love's Labour's Lost), Laura Dreyfuss (Once, Hair).

Oscar-winning FROZEN songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are in development on their next project -- a musical titled UP HERE, with ROCKY's Alex Timbers on board to direct. The production is scheduled to make its World Premiere at La Jolla Playhouse in California during the theater's 2015-16 season, though no exact dates have been set.

In the midst of a great bullying epidemic comes a fresh new voice: Alinka Angelova's MUTE (The Musical). After three years of school tours, Infinity Arts Productions is bringing this inspirational tale of one girl's fight to find her voice in a world that wants to silence her to the Toronto Fringe Festival. Eligibility and award category designations for the productions under consideration this season were determined by the Drama Desk board of directors with recommendations from the nominating committee. Because of the abundance of great work throughout the season, the Board also authorized the increase in the number of nominees allowed in select categories.

Marin Theatre Company, in association with Lorraine Hansberry Theatre, will stage August Wilson's Fences, the 1950s entry into his Century Cycle (also known as his Pittsburgh Cycle) - a decade-by-decade exploration of the black experience in 20th century America.
