? Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to announce the final 2015 - 16 installment of Chicago's hit new musical revue series, New Faces Sing Broadway. This edition, conceived and directed by Michael Weber and Chris Carter with music direction by Nick Sula, hosted by James Earl Jones II and featuring a cast of Chicago's hottest emerging artists, takes a journey through the best of Broadway's 1949 musical season via rare multi-media visuals, songs, trivia games and sing alongs in New Faces Sing Broadway 1949, Tuesday, June 7 at 8 p.m. at Uptown Underground, 4707 N Broadway. Although the production doesn't quite soar, LOST IN THE STARS is a welcome addition to the WNO season simply because it's not performed very frequently - at least in comparison to other more familiar works that transcend the opera-musical divide.

Starting fittingly on July Fourth weekend, Museum of the Moving Image will present The Essential John Ford, a tribute to the consummate American filmmaker. Ford made his reputation on westerns, but worked in many genres, creating films of depth, beauty, and ambiguity. From today, July 3 through August 2, the Museum will present 20 movies directed by Ford-all on film, with some restored archival prints-including his masterpieces Young Mr. Lincoln, My Darling Clementine, The Searchers, and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.

The Old Globe's presentation of Kiss Me, Kate, the classic musical comedy featuring a book by Sam and Bella Spewack and an iconic score by Cole Porter, begins tonight, July 1, on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

Mary Chase's Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy HARVEY directed by Lindsay Posner, will open at Birmingham Repertory Theatre on 6 February, running until 21 February. First produced on Broadway in 1944 where it ran for four years, this new production stars James Dreyfus as Elwood P. Dowd and Maureen Lipman as his sister, Veta.
