'Your past and future are embedded in the present moment,' she says. That idea drives 'Long Before Afterward,' her dance of sliding movement, sweeping turns and Grecian patterns which play with our perspective in sometimes mathematical ways. The Hawkins- and Limon-influenced piece will be performed to a suite of nine expressionistic works by acclaimed composer Arlene Sierra and will be presented by Susan Vencl Dance for its debut February 19, 20 and 21 at 8:00 PM at Graham Center of Contemporary Dance, 55 Bethune Street.

Last night, Lambeth Council voted unanimously to grant planning permission for the legendary London arts centre Ovalhouse to move to a purpose built new home in the heart of Brixton. This follows the announcement in September of former 007, Pierce Brosnan's support of a fundraising campaign to make such a move possible and is seen as a major step towards his ambition.

Four legendary women -- Production Designer Carmen Dillon, Production and Costume Designer Patricia Norris, Art Director and Set Designer Dorothea Holt Redmond and Illustrator Dianne Wager -- will be inducted into the Art Directors Guild (ADG) Hall of Fame at the Guild's 20th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards, it was announced today by ADG Council Chairwoman Marcia Hinds and Awards Executive Producer James Pearse Connelly. Pianist Kirill Gerstein will replace Jonathan Biss in the New York Philharmonic's performances of Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 1, conducted by Susanna Ma?lkki in her New York Philharmonic debut, tonight, May 21, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m.; and Saturday, May 23 at 8:00 p.m. Due to an arm injury suffered in a recent accident, Mr. Biss is unable to perform with the New York Philharmonic on the advice of his doctor.

The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, New York Live Arts' Resident Dance Company, today announced the launch of a new partnership with Loyola Marymount University (LMU). The partnership with the Los Angeles based university marks the first of its kind, adding to the Company's existing collegiate education programs. Spanning a total of four years, the partnership will bring the Company's works and their pedagogical and performative philosophy to LMU's campus and the Los Angeles area.
