For the first time since 2011, Gavin Creel is headed to South Florida later this week with Seth Rudetsky to open the third season of Parker Playhouse's Broadway Concert Series. Kicking off the season is Broadway's Gavin Creel, Olivier Award Winning star "The Book of Mormon and star of "She Loves Me" performing on December 30 at 8:00 PM, immediately prior to his return to Broadway where he will co-star with Bette Midler in "Hello Dolly!." He is followed by Matthew Morrison, who has been nominated for a Tony Award for "Light in the Piazza" and Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for his starring role in the hit TV series "Glee" on February 17, 2017 at 8:00 PM, and comedy legend Andrea Martin, star of TV's SCTV and two-time Tony Award winner for the Broadway revival of "Pippin" and "My Favorite Year," on April 1, 2017 at 8:00 PM.

Writers in Performance is a 12-week writing and performance workshop hosted by BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, culminating in two public presentations.  Throughout the course of the workshop, talented actors, playwrights, poets and storytellers have explored writing exercises, theater games, improvisation, movement techniques, and ensemble work in a safe, creative environment. This season, the theme and title of the Writers in Performance show is 'Home.' Writers in Performance participants are diverse by design; not only in ethnicity, but by age, and experience as well, mixing professionals with students.  On Friday, December 2 & Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 7:30PM, the troupe will showcase the monologues and short scenes they have been crafting.  We are proud to have members of the BMCC student community in the production (denoted below). Hello, Dolly! taught us long ago that it takes a woman to bring us the sweet things in life, but that's not a message that the New York Times is willing to put into the world this November. According to Politico, the newspaper rejected an ad from the Broadway musical for a special 'For President' section. The ad read: 'IT TAKES A WOMAN,' and included comparatively small text listing the show's opening date and website.

The Ziegfeld Society of New York City presents the second show of its Eighth Season on October 29th, 2016 with CALL MY PUBLICIST! - THE STARRY EDUCATION OF A BROADWAY PRESS AGENT. Billed as "An Insider's View of the Theatre's Glamour and Folly," the autobiographical play with music is written and performed by Josh Ellis, directed by Gretchen Cryer, with musical direction and arrangements by Mark York, on Today, October 29th.
