Noel Ruiz, that is, CM PAC's beloved leader, a mentor to so many, and a pillar of the Long Island theatre community who passed away in September. This production of the Tony Award winning classic LES MISERABLES was Mr. Ruiz's vision and dream. As you read the bios of the cast in the playbill, they even dedicate this performance to him. Patrick Grossman, a CM vet, stepped in for the final staging as, naturally, the show must go on. And let me tell you, Mr. Ruiz would be so proud.

Cameron Mackintosh announced today the first four cast members of his acclaimed new production of Alain Boublil & Claude-Michel Schonberg's Tony Award-winning musical masterpiece Les Miserables, which returns to Broadway beginning Saturday, March 1 at the Imperial Theatre.

Audiences will be astounded and moved by the explosion of talent and excellent performances by the cast as well as the brilliant songs that will keep you engaged throughout the entire show. LES MISERABLES packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled audiences internationally. At long last, the phenomenon is coming home. Victor Hugo's epic novel Les Miserables has become one of the world's most successful and beloved musicals. Alain Boublil first got the idea to adapt the novel to stage while watching a production of OLIVER! In London. He pitched the idea to French composer Claude-Michel Schonberg. LES MISERABLES was first staged in 1980, and over 500,000 people saw it across its 100 performances. The first production in English, produced by Cameron Mackintosh and adapted and directed by Trevor Nunn and John Caird, opened in 1985 in London. This production instantly became a phenomenon, and is still running (with revisions and alterations to the book and staging). LES MISERABLES first opened on Broadway in 1987 and ran through 2003. It was revived in 2006 and will be revived on Broadway again in 2014. Currently, Bayou City Theatrics is presenting a pared down LES MISERABLES that is also the first all-Houston talent production of the musical.

After nearly nine months of meticulous preparation, LES MISERABLES opens today, September 6th and runs through the 29th at the Baldwin Theatre in downtown Royal Oak.

Hart Jr., in association with the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.), have announced that the box office will open on Thursday, August 8th for the 17-week limited engagement of the critically-acclaimed revival of The Glass Menagerie at the Booth Theatre (222 W 45th Street) with performances beginning Thursday, September 5, 2013, and an opening night set for Thursday, September 26th. The production will star multiple Tony and Emmy Award-winner Cherry Jones as Amanda Wingfield, film and stage star Zachary Quinto as Tom, two-time Tony-nominee Celia Keenan-Bolger as Laura, and Brian J. Smith as Jim, the Gentleman Caller.
