The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's 21st season will feature daytime television star Tom Degnan in the role of Brick Pollitt in Tennessee William's Pulitzer Prize winning classic, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Tennessee Williams' favorite among his own plays, the Pulitzer prize-winning Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, opens Saturday, July 21st on the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival main stage, in rep with Much Ado About Nothing.

Frog and Peach Theatre Co., Inc. will present an all-star benefit reading of 'King Lear' on July 9 at The Player's Club with a cast including Jeffrey DeMunn ('The Walking Dead') as King Lear, Bebe Neuwirth ( 'The Good Wife') as Goneril, Darrell Hammond (Saturday Night Live) as Edgar, Rich Sommer ('Mad Men') as Fool, Wrenn Schmidt ('Boardwalk Empire') as Cordelia, Ted Zurkowski ('Boys on the Side') as Edmund, John Rothman ('Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter') as Kent, Peter Gerety ('Public Enemies') as Gloucester, David Wohl ('Saving Private Ryan') as Albany, Amy Frances Quint ('Radio Deluxembourg') as Regan, Eric Doss ('Love Songs') as France, Ryan Tramont ('The Hurt Locker') as Oswald, Erick Gonzalez ('Two Gentlemen of Verona') as Cornwall, and Jack Sochet ('A Midsummer Night's Dream') as Burgundy. The original score is by Ian McDonald (King Crimson, Foreigner) and performed live by Mr. McDonald.

So, if there were ever a time to take a look back at one of the most remarkable Broadway/Hollywood crossover stars of the last century or the current one as he reaches yet another peek in a career populated with many highs, now is certainly the time! After all, as the oldest Oscar-winner to date, a midsummer night's dream has evidently quite quickly turned to a winter's tale - but with sound and fury signifying much, as we will see.

The Festivity will take place May 30th through June 24th at Culture Project, 45 Bleeker Street in New York City. Ticket $18. Due to popular demand, The Flea Theater will bring back THESE SEVEN SICKNESSES this summer. This theatrical adaptation of Sophocles' seven surviving plays (Oedipus, In Trachis, Philoktetes, In Colonus, Ajax, Elektra and Antigone) will return for a limited engagement June 6 through July 1.

Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that Lincoln Center Theater 'wants the Beaumont for its next big production - a revival of THE KING AND I starring Kelli O'Hara.' BroadwayWorld.com first reported back in 2011 that the theatre was considering a Bartlett Sher helmed revival of the classic show. O'Hara is currently starring opposite Matthew Broderick in NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT.
