The Gallery Players have announced a new production of William Shakespeare's JULIUS CAESAR directed by James Dean Palmer, and featuring Erin Anderson, Elyana Aronow, Patricia Black, Erin Capistrano, Russell Linzy Carpenter, Sergio Fuenzalida, David Glover, Jenny Jarnagin, Drew Ledbetter, Bibi Mama, Cory Mccants, Kevin Mcguire, Victoria Morales, Elisha Mudly, Philip Schneider, Griffin Sharps and Eric Ryan Swanson.

Twenty years ago the fledgling Jackson Shakespeare Festival mounted a production of The Taming Of The Shrew. In the director's chair was internationally-renowned actor/director/playwright John Neville-Andrews. On stage was the first pairing of Janice Waldron and David Blixt, playing opposite each other as Kate and Petruchio. Waldron had just graduated from the Hilberry conservatory program in Detroit, while Ann Arbor native Blixt had performed as Mercutio at the festival the previous year. The results were electric.

Simon Godwin's (Associate Director, London's National Theatre) acclaimed staging of Measure for Measure, William Shakespeare's dark comedy about justice, faith, power, sex and family, will close as scheduled next week, on July 16. Just 15 New York performances remain of the production.

The cast and creative team for the premiere of the new musical, The Time Machine, with book by David Mauk and Brenda Mandabach, music and lyrics by David Mauk, has been announced. Repertory Theater presents the inaugural Professional Training Institute's production of So Thrive My Soul, in the Stiemke Studio July 13 - 16, 2017. The Professional Training Institute (PTI) is a free yearlong advance actor training program for students in 8th-12th grade who may have an interest in pursuing a career as a professional theater artist.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) announced today the complete cast of its 22nd production of Free Shakespeare on the Common, William Shakespeare's immortal drama Romeo & Juliet, directed by Allegra Libonati. The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) and CPA Theatricals present Numbers Nerds, the [almost] all-girl math challenge, with book by Laura Stratford, Music by David Kornfeld, lyrics by Alex Higgin-Houser, additional music by Dylan MarcAurele and original story by Larry Little.  Amber Mak, New Works Development Director at Chicago's Paramount Theatre, directs and choreographs a cast of six, including Danielle Davila, Madison Kauffman, Jake Morrissy, Maisie Rose, Sharon Sachs (Film: 'Home Alone;'  TV: 'Weeds,' 'Dexter,' 'Grimm') and Tiffany Tatreau (Ride the Cyclone). Six performances will be staged at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater, 416 West 42nd Street, New York City from July 19-23, 2017.
