Elaine Cassidy will be taking on the role of Madame de Tourvel in the Donmar's production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, replacing Michelle Dockery who regrettably has had to withdraw from the production prior to the start of rehearsals.

Company of Fools (COF) will present the critically acclaimed and award-winning play, AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tracy Letts for the second show of their 20th Season. Letts's jaw-dropping masterpiece opens tonight, September 30, and runs through October 17, 2015 at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey, Idaho.

A memorial tribute will be held for Roger Rees, the legendary Tony Award-winning actor, and Tony Award nominated director, today, September 21 at 1:00 PM at the New Amsterdam Theatre (214 W 42nd Street, NYC). 

In addition to the previously announced Michelle Dockery, Janet McTeer and Dominic West, the production will feature Adjoa Andoh, Theo Barklem-Biggs, Morfydd Clark, Edward Holcroft, Jennifer Saayeng and Una Stubbs.

Actors' Equity has released a statement this afternoon following the news of former president and Broadway veteran Theodore Bikel's death at 91.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that beloved stage and screen star, Theodore Bikel, who recently CELEBRATED his 76th year in show business, has passed away at UCLA Medical as a result of natural causes. He was 91.

The Public Theater announced additional casting today for the 2015 Free Shakespeare in the Park season, beginning Wednesday, May 27 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. This summer will feature Shakespeare's late romances with THE TEMPEST, directed by Tony Award nominee Michael Greif, and CYMBELINE, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan. Jesse Tyler Ferguson will return to the Park this summer as Trinculo in THE TEMPEST, along with Hamish Linklater and Lily Rabe teaming up again with Daniel Sullivan on CYMBELINE to play Posthumus Leonatus/Cloten and Imogen, respectively.

VH Theatrical Development Foundation proudly announces the Off-Broadway premiere of THE BRIGHTNESS OF HEAVEN, a new play by acclaimed author Laura Pedersen, directed by Ludovica Villar-Hauser. The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Bright Star, a new American musical featuring music by Edie Brickell and Steve Martin, lyrics by Brickell, and book by Martin, based on an original story by Martin and Brickell. Directed by Walter Bobbie, Bright Star will run September 13 - November 2, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run September 13 - September 27. Opening night is Sunday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. Single tickets go on sale on Friday, August 8 at noon.

Featuring the previously announced John Lithgow as Lear, this enduring tragedy will begin performances on Tuesday, July 22 and run through Sunday, August 17, with an official press opening on Tuesday, August 5.

Profiles Theatre announces the final extension for the Midwest premiere of Cock by Mike Bartlett, directed by Artistic Director Darrell W. Cox. The production opened February 20, 2014 and will extend for the second time through June 29, 2014. Cast members Torrey Hanson, Eleni Pappageorge, Jake Szczepaniak continue their roles with Nik Kourtis joining the cast. Performances are held at The Main Stage, 4139 N. Broadway.
