Following the enormous success of the semi-staged performance of My Fair Lady at the Proms in 2012, John Wilson returns to perform Cole Porter's Tony Award-winning musical Kiss Me, Kate. Joining John Wilson and the John Wilson Orchestra, Broadway stalwarts Ben Davis, Alexandra Silber, Tony Yazbeck and West End star Louise Dearman lead the cast in an irreverent reworking of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew -- a play within a play. This is the BBC Proms debut for all four performers as they sing the energetic score in its original 1948 arrangement.

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Acting Chairman Joan Shigekawa announced today that Phamaly Theatre Company is one of 886 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant. Phamaly is recommended for a $20,000 grant to support the company's production of Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to be held in the Space Theatre at the Denver Performing Arts Complex from July 10-August 10, 2014.

Dallas Theater Center announced today the award-winning cast and creative team for the world premiere new musical The Fortress of Solitude, a co-production with The Public Theater in New York City. The Fortress of Solitude is based on the nationally best-selling novel of the same name by 2005 MacArthur Fellow Jonathan Lethem. The musical is conceived and directed by Daniel Aukin, with a book by Itamar Moses, and music and lyrics by Michael Friedman. The Fortress of Solitude opens with previews on March 7 and runs through April 6. Media Music Theatre Company, the producing arm of the Broadway Series at The Media Theatre, has its next musical coming up February 26-March 30. It's Roger Bean's 'Why Do Fools Fall In Love?' and the cast features four young ladies who are familiar to Media's audiences.

American Lyric Theater presents the first public libretto reading for the 2013-2014 season as part of its popular series, The Living Libretto, at the National Opera Center today, October 16th, 2013. Featuring guest actors from the Broadway and off-Broadway stage, each event is the culminating reading of an extensive libretto workshop conducted for new operas being written by ALT Resident Artists under the auspices of the company's Composer Librettist Development Program.
