The quiet English countryside changed with the arrival of its newest neighbor, Count Dracula. Even Lucy Seward, the daughter of the psychiatrist in charge of the local sanitorium, is behaving strangely. Her mysterious oddities are noticed by Jonathan Harker, the man who loves her, and her father who sends for Dr. Van Helsing. Van Helsing believes Lucy might be a victim of a ghost that sucks blood at night from its victims.

Howard Phillips Lovecraft was an American author who achieved posthumous fame through his influential works of horror fiction. Virtually unknown and only published in pulp magazines, he died in poverty at the age of 46, and is only now regarded as one of the most significant 20th-century authors in his genre. THE COLOR OUT OF SPACE is a short story written in March 1927. In the tale, an unnamed narrator pieces together the story of an area known by the locals as the 'blasted heath' in the wild hills west of Arkham, Massachusetts. The narrator discovers that many years ago a meteorite crashed there, poisoning every living being nearby. The vegetation grows large, but is inedible due to a metallic taste, animals go mad and are grotesquely deformed, and the people go insane and die one by one. Seeking to create a truly alien life form, he drew inspiration from numerous fiction and nonfiction sources. First appearing in the September 1927 edition of Amazing Stories, THE COLOR OUT OF SPACE became one of Lovecraft's most popular works, and remained his personal favorite short story. It was adapted into feature film versions in 1965, 1987, and 2010. Forbidden knowledge is a central theme in many of Lovecraft's works. His characters are often driven by curiosity or scientific endeavor, and in many of his stories the knowledge they uncover proves so Promethean in nature that it leaves the character regretting or destroyed from what they have learned or being destroyed psychically. In the case of THE COLOR OUT OF SPACE, all of these are true.

NBC's annual MACY'S 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR adds all-star performances from Grammy and Tony Award nominee Sara Bareilles, multi-platinum band DNCE and global superstar Pitbull.

SHOW BOAT inaugurates a partnership between Fiddlehead Theatre and Citi Performing Arts Center Shubert Theatre. The lavish, spectacular production is co-directed by Meg Fofonoff and Stacey Stephens, features a 27-piece live orchestra, and a cast of 50 triple-threat performers. Yeehah! Birmingham's oldest Musical Theatre Company BMOS is celebrating its 130th anniversary -  with a return to the stage at the New Alexandra Theatre. Birmingham Midland and Operatic Society, which launched in 1886, will bring a brand new production of Calamity Jane to the venue from Tuesday 14 to Saturday 18 June 2016. 

Broadway will come to The Cape Playhouse this summer as Hunter Foster, Jen Cody, Nick Spangler, and Kaitlyn Davidson come to the theatre in a season of Playhouse premieres and Broadway favorites. Meg Fofonoff and Stacey Stephens, Producing Artistic Directors of Fiddlehead Theatre Company, announced today the cast of Show Boat, the company's first production in partnership with the Citi Performing Arts Center Shubert Theatre, 265 Tremont Street, Boston. Show Boat will run for twelve performances from June 22-July 3, 2016. Co-Directed by Fofonoff and Stephens, Show Boat will feature a cast of 50 starring seasoned international and off-Broadway performers including Kim Corbett (West Side Story, Les Miserables) as Magnolia Hawks, Jeremiah James (The Fantasticks) as Gaylord Ravenal, Lindsay Roberts (The Gershwins' Porgy And Bess) as Queenie, and Brian Kinnard (Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story) as Joe. Show Boat is Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II's epic of life on the Mississippi River with some of the most beautiful and influential music ever written for the stage including 'Ol'Man River,' 'Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man' and 'Bill.' Show Boat will be choreographed by Wendy Hall, with a 27-piece live orchestra under the direction of Charles Peltz.
