Big Noise Theatre Company will open its 2012-13 season with the engaging rock-opera JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, opening tonight, September 28th and playing weekends through October 21, 2012. Performances will be held at Prairie Lakes Theatre in Des Plaines, IL. The production is directed by Stacey Flaster, and Robert Deason returns to Big Noise as the show's music director.

Alumni cast members were invited back to be a part of this Elvis inspired musical, first presented by Minnetonka High School in 2009. Running from tonight, July 20 to August 4 on the Arts Center on 7 Main Stage, it is also a follow up to last winter's sold-out hit, The Sound of Music.

Black Milk, by the Russian playwright Vassily Sigarev (translation by Sasha Dugdale), will have its New York premiere Off-Broadway this summer from tonight, July 19 - August 4, 2012 in a production helmed by the acclaimed Venezuelan director Michel Hausmann at East 13th Street Theatre, 136 East 13th Street (home of Classic Stage Company).

BroadwayWorld.com and Broadway Records are co-sponsoring a liner notes essay contest for the new Jekyll & Hyde studio concept recording. Fans will have the opportunity to submit a 250 to 500 word essay for consideration. Five finalists will be chosen by the staff of BroadwayWorld.com in consultation with Broadway Records. Frank Wildhorn, Constantine Maroulis and Broadway Records will select the Grand Prize Winner who will have his or her liner notes essay will be included in the upcoming recording.

The producers of the new musical CHAPLIN have just announced full casting for the production, which will star Rob McClure in the title role, as previously announced. The production will also feature Jim Borstelmann (Alf Reeves), Jenn Colella (Hedda Hopper), Erin Mackey (Oona O'Neill), Michael McCormick (Sennett, McGranery, Emcee), Christiane Noll (Hannah Chaplin), Zachary Unger (Young Charlie, Jackie) and Wayne Alan Wilcox (Sydney Chaplin).

Christian Borle is the recipient of this year's Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for PETER AND THE STARCATCHER. Rob McClure, who originated the role of Chaplin at the La Jolla Playhouse, will star in the title role of the new Broadway musical CHAPLIN. A new musical depicting the life of film icon Charlie Chaplin, with music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and book by three-time Tony Award-winner Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Christopher Curtis, CHAPLIN will open on Broadway on Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). Previews will begin Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Acclaimed director/choreographer Warren Carlyle (Finian's Rainbow, Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway) directs and choreographs the production. Additional casting and additional creative team to be announced soon.
