Main Street Theatre has been a staple in the Houston theatre scene since Rebecca Udden found the company in the 1970s. Over time, the company has continued to evolve and grow. It seems that Houston audiences may not be fully aware of just how dynamic this stellar theatre company is. To help set the record straight, Rebecca Udden, Founding and Executive Artistic Director, and Vivienne St. John, Theater For Youth Producing Director, spoke with me about this fantastic and multifaceted theatrical company.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that Michael Aronov, Danny Burstein, Bill Camp, Sean Cullen, Dagmara Dominczyk, Ned Eisenberg, Brad Fleischer, Karl Glusman, Jonathan Hadary, Daniel Jenkins, Danny Mastrogiorgio, Dion Mucciacito, Seth Numrich, Lucas Caleb Rooney, Tony Shalhoub, Yvonne Strahovski and David Wohl will be featured in the 19 member cast of its 75th Anniversary production of the Clifford Odets classic GOLDEN BOY, to be directed by Bartlett Sher, beginning performances Thursday, November 8 and opening Thursday, December 6 at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44 Street), the same theatre where the play premiered in 1937. Additional casting for GOLDEN BOY will be announced at a later date.

"The new health center will be named after the renowned Jazz Pianist, Harpist and Singer, Corky Hale Stoller and her Grammy Award winning husband, Mike Stoller of Leiber & Stoller fame, along with the late Compton Civic Leader, Maxcy Dean Filer, who was affectionately known as 'Mr. Compton,'" Dunlap said.

Starting February 8, as a command performance, the show will return for the eighth time -- and the final time for Gail Bliss. Chosen from over 600 hopefuls in 1994 to originate the role of Patsy in the initial touring production of "A Closer Walk," singer-songwriter Gail Bliss has made a name for herself all over North America for her work in this role. "A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline" is estate approved - one of only two select productions to be sanctioned by the Patsy Cline Estate managed by Charlie Dick, Patsy Cline's husband. Dick said of Patsy, "she's the best I've ever seen."
